Mrs. Peel
Yeah, but you're in Connecticut. Is McCain even on the ballot there or is it just a runoff between Obama and Nader? On my way home yesterday I came up with a new nickname for you. Ex-Conn. Surprisingly, in my area there is a Republican majority and I haven't heard a single kind word uttered about Obama when I'm around town. And after seeing those 9 bags of voter material on the side of the Florida highway, I figure it's better to be safe than sorry.

John Smith
My friend told me today that 15,000 republican absentee ballots in broward (where I live) were never sent out. Been in a car all day so I haven't verified. Searching on it all I found was the stuff about 58k ballots going missing in 2004. There was another story about 3,500 missing ballots that were found back in September. But nothing specific about R ballots being missing in 2008. So if true, it has not hit the liberal elite media yet. Dixville Notch NH has voted for Obama 15-6 This place has voted 2-1 or better for republicans for 30+ years.

I know what you mean, though. When I lived in New Milford, it was pretty solidily Republican, too. That area of the state is a little pocket of conservatism in an otherwise pretty blue state. Of course, a "conservative" in CT would probably be viewed as pretty much a centrist anywhere else in the country.
Mrs. Peel
They need more people in Dixville Notch.... LouieB They have 75 people. They're the most widely known voting community because they open their voting at midnight, and yet only 28% of them vote?

John Smith
A little patience, and we shall see the reign of witches pass over, their spells dissolve, and the people, recovering their true sight, restore their government to its true principles. It is true that in the mean time we are suffering deeply in spirit, and incurring the horrors of a war & long oppressions of enormous public debt. Thomas Jefferson June 4, 1798. I'd make her send a pictureof herself in the long line. Our polls opened at 7. My husband showed up around 7:30, voted, took our son to school, came home around 8:00, I went and voted, got home around 8:20, then he left for work and stopped at Target to pick some stuff up for me, and he went to Starbucks to get his free coffee. He's supposed to be to work at 7:30, he's blaming the long line for being late.
