Just got my ticket this morning. Anyone interested in carpooling from Columbia, MO to the show?

We are leaving Warrensburg towards Columbia friday night to pick up a pal named Sal(and stay) in Iowa. Leaving for the show on Sat am. Staying sat than heading back on Sunday.

Nope! Foellinger's not sold out yet! Just got my tickets- 6th row in the balcony, though there were still floor seats available but just on the sides. Wish I had looked at the images of the auditorium before though because even the "side" section is not bad. But I'm super excited anyway...first solo Tweedy show, drving all the way from Tulsa and just hoping for a snow free weekend! Cant wait

Canada's own Great Lake Swimmers are opening up for Jeff in Kalamazoo and Champaign, pretty awesome opportunity for these guys.

Wonderful! I have never seen them and I really like them.

Oh, and Allison will be really REALLY happy about this. (I texted her and her reply was "No fucking way!!!!!" :lol )

I already have tickets for a Badger basketball game and Gene Ween Band that night, but damned if the inclusion of Great Lake Swimmers on the Tweedy bill doesn't make me want to ditch those plans entirely.

GAH.

Anyone have any tips on where to stay, eat, drink..be merry?

There's no shortage of places to eat and drink, both in campus town, in downtown Champaign, and downtown Urbana. Haven't been down to the area in several years, but The Office was a great place for beverages in downtown Urbana, and apparently White Horse is open again in Champaign - that will make my husband happy! (As that was the leading reason given for not going to this show originally.) As for food, Radio Maria's was our favorite place to eat. We'll be dining there again for sure. (Though I hear that the tapas menu is mediocre.)

To stay, if you feel like splurging, the Union has a hotel, and it's directly across the quad from Foellinger Hall. So, convenient too! http://www.union.uiuc.edu/services/hotel

Otherwise, it's a college town, and hotels abound.

Hope this helps...
