Yea, pretty amatur.....I would guess you could do better...

The thing is: behind the amateur aspect, there's real taste going on

The white background looks superb to me. There's a sense of aesthetic here. The words "Neko Case" written differently would have made a different effect. There's the notion that you have to take risks, and to "try things". It's part of the aesthetics, and I couldn't be more serious!

Of course Neko is just a musician with taste in art, but that's something already. There are tons of awful cover arts in the music world that nobody seems to notice.

The type style looks too familiar to me though, like an off-kilter Milky Way candy bar ad in a teen magazine.

From Brooklyn Vegan: MP3 song to download - "People Got a Lot of Nerve"

Re-post it on your blog and ANTI (Neko's label) will donate money to Best Friends Animal Society.

Today, we are especially happy to bring you "People Got A Lotta Nerve," the first single from Neko Case's forthcoming album Middle Cyclone (out March 3), because for every blog that reposts the song and/or iLike user who adds it to their profile, Neko Case and ANTI- will make a cash donation to Best Friends Animal Society.

The promotion will run from January 13 to February 3, 2009. Five dollars will be donated for every blog post and one dollar for every user of iLike that adds the song to his/her profile.

And in other news, a tour must be close to being announced - I got news from The Pabst email list that Neko will be performing at The Pabst in Milwaukee on Saturday, April 25th - reserved seats - $22.50. Now that would be a sweet weekend show!

The Pabst/Riverside people sure do a great job on their ad page for their music events. 50 songs to listen to, 2 videos, a long article on the artist, etc.

Wow, judging from the EPK, this one might give Blacklisted a run for its money. Not too wild about the single (which has been on MySpace for about a week, btw), but it's a far cry from terrible.

(And from one artist to the ether, that cover is fantastic!)
