cryptique
Yeah. Hard to imagine anyplace doing that now. There's an A&W drive-in just up the road from where I work -- only open during the warm months, though. They still have the glass tankards, carhops, the whole deal.

theashtraysays
Anybody know this stuff? Local stuff, but not my favorite. Kind of a cross between ginger ale and cream soda. Loaded with caffeine. Sickening sweet. Curious to see if it's well known. It's called Ale 8 1. As in "A Late One". Yeah, I know.
Analogman
That's pretty cool. One from PA: Natrona Bottling Works Red Ribbon Original Cherry Supreme A traditional favorite, our Cherry just might be our flagship productRed Ribbon Sodium Free Grape Quite similar in taste to our Pennsylvania Punch, but with lovely fizzRed Ribbon Home Brewed Style Root Beer Our classic style caffeine free root beer recipe We also offer the following great flavors: Bauser Champayno A non-alcoholic champagne-like beveragePlantation Style Mint Julep Refreshing flavor that tastes great as both a mixer and a sodaJamaica
Elixir Sue
Ale 8 sucks. Sorry, Kentucky. New York Seltzer was a favorite of mine when I was like 14. Actually, I just thought it might be cool to be known as the kid who drinks New York Seltzer all the time - I didn't like it all that much. I loved that back in the day too (especially the cream soda one). My excuse is that I was trying to be like my older sister, who drank it all the time.
jenbobblehead
That's the beauty of the La Croix bubble water. Just a slight tint of flavor, no calories, no syrupy shit. Crisp and clean. I'm betting that Polar stuff is very similar.Grapefruit Seltzer from Polar is really the best seltzer ever.
stooka
I'm a man of Barq's, regular Coke, and Dr. Pepper.  They still make Dr pepper with pure cane sugar in Dublin, Tx.

PigSooie
Looks like they still make it, but it has Splenda in it.  http://www.clearly.ca/files/products_us.php Edit: Only the zero ones have Splenda. The o-riginals are still made with cane sugar.
WilcoFan
As a kid I used to like Suburban "Almond Smash." I had one about a year ago and it seemed like it tasted different than I remember.

explodo
I drink Diet Coke even though I hardly like it. When I can afford it, I spring for Pellegrino. And in the rest of my time, I do a lot of Celestial Seasonings True Blueberry iced or hot.

bobbob1313
That's honestly more along the lines of what I expected from this thread. Anytime we discuss something that is undeniably awesome on this board (Like coke or Jessica Simpson's boobs), there is always someone who will come on and ruin it with their naysaying.
