suites
Well I get Paste and there is a funny article on the last page about "An open letter to the couple making out at the Wilco concert" I tried to scan into my system and copy but I am not having an easy time doing it. I don't think it is on line. If someone tells me a way to copy/paste the file I will do it.

VenusStopsTrain2
What about taking photos of it? If you have a camera phone you could try that...lol
HungryHippo
would love to read this article. at the Myrtle Beach '05 show, this guy and girl on the front row were, obviously, trying to make a baby. would be cool for the kid to grow up and tell people that he was conceived during 'New Madrid.' Smokestack Joe
its funny, i dont remember seeing any of this, say, during AM-Being There tours. People were more interested in drinking and smoking dope.
bold992003
funny I read this yesterday and thought about seeing Wilco at the Agganis arena a few years back and my girlfriend and I witnessed this exact same thing. This couple in front of us (like 2nd row) could not stop making out and like slow dancing. We couldn't stop commetting on it...it was like there was no concert playing at all for them...they were in their own world and annoying the crap out of everyone around them. isadorah
i'd love to read this as well. a couple years ago at the charlotte show there was a couple making out in the front row. jeff called them out on it and then the guy disappeared and jeff made comment that the girl didn't know him. i was fortunate to not be down front and center to witness, but bigshoulders did. SGL
Sounds like it would be a fun read. Here's a tale of my experience with disruptive audience members:At the second night of the 3 Pageant shows, about halfway through the initial set (before the killer encores) a group of rather dirty hippies started dancing RIGHT in front of me. I was too scared to ask them to move for fear of getting mauled, but it really got on my nerves. I mean don't get me wrong, I have no problem with dancing... but this was waaayy more than just dancing. they were flailing their arms and jumping up and down and blocking my view and so on and it was quite distracting. EX: nearly ruined the middle of the show for me. but thankfully the spirit of dance took them elsewhere and i was allowed to enjoy the remainder of a great night in peace... Edie
At the Pageant show in '06 (I think it was '06), Jeff commented on a couple slow dancing, and told them not to stop
barbkm
Your visual caught my dancing style exactly -- my bald, yellow bopping up and down like that. Very funny image after a long, rough day in the office. Thanks!
LouieB
I think this was the only article I actually read in the new Paste....more stupidity from this rag....but I read it anyway. LouieB
Analogman
I wonder if some more of these big magazines will go under this year? I figure it is bound to happen. I have not seen an issue of Paste in a long time. If it is anything like Rolling Stone, they could save some paper and just post their lists and news bits online. Three dollars and 63 cents
I bought Rolling Stone the other day for the first time in maybe five years. It's even worse than it was when I stopped my subscription. I really don't like the smaller format, either. It makes everything seem sort of squished.

LouieB I agree...I just ws about to say to my wife that I could not find 1 thing in the mag. that was interesting...until the last page. Hal
gueringray
I think this was the only article I actually read in the new Paste....more stupidity from this rag.... Agreed - I canceled my sub after 4-ish years after several issues in a row that were completely filled with drivel. The 50th issue was an abomination...and the last straw. The 50th issue was an abomination...and the last straw. As mentioned before the only reason I have this thing is because i subscribed to No Depression and had about two years left and they switched to this. Paste got a deal that's for sure. I never would get this of my own accord. Sorry to hear RS is even smaller now than ever. So it goes. It is going to be that the only two publications left will be the New York Times and the New Yorker....oh yea, Time and People also and the tabloids...maybe. jff
A couple years ago I said I thought Paste was the worst of the "good" music magazines, and I was roundly criticized here and elsewhere for that opinion. I bought a subscription a several months ago when they were offering a pay what you want deal. Minimum $1...I gave them $2. To date I've gotten about 5 cents worth of return on my investment. I'd like nothing more than to see them put out a quality product and succeed, being that their based only a few miles from my home, but they consistently fall FAR flat of my lowest expectations. GtrPlyr
My gf picked up the magazine earlier today. If it's the same issue, I'll scan the article and post it here.

nodep5
I've been subscribing for a few years now to Paste and every year I have a week long internal argument over why the hell I send them more money. I think it is desperation because every now and then they will send me a bone with an Iron and Wine cover or something like that. All of these publications claim that the smaller format in magazines is due to people's lack of desire to sit down with long articles. Who are these people who just want to read a one and a half page article that sheds no light but tells you what you already know? Anyway, I have been buying American Songwriter mag a little bit lately and although it is kind of wierd at times, anyone who puts The Avett Brothers on the cover is cool in my book. Articles on Avetts, M. Ward and Bonnie Prince Billy this month. It is still an imperfect magazine however and No Depression and Harp likely won't be replace anytime soon. You might enjoy Tape Op magazine. It's FREE. It's focus is on recording, but I think a lot of their articles would appeal to a much wider range of folks than just recording engineers.
