bcart12
So what should we be expecting from the boys? Will they be busting out new material right away or will they wait till it gets closer to the album release date? Do you think they will have the Total Pro's with them? Will Jeff be rocking a new wardrobe as mentioned in another thread? Due to all Jeff's solo shows lately, do you think he'll be bringing out some rarer material with the band? I'm just getting excited for Tuesday. Need a little discussion to settle my mind.
LouisvilleGreg
I'm hoping that the string of shows just after the Residency last year, that were looser and more wide open will carry on this year. It serves any band well when they are sharp enough and ready to play anything in their catalog. I'm sure the next tour will be heavy on the new album and SBS out of the gate, but it'll be interesting to see what shape things take 6 months from now.
u2roolz
Hey, I was going to start a similar thread about how I'm somehow more excited for the 10 shows coming up this month than the record. Sounds crazy. But you know what I mean, I'm sure we'll be hearing new stuff. If you go to a concert or if you download a show. Once again thanks to the amazing people who tape shows. We'll get some real gems over the next 2 weeks. As far as predictions, I think these shows will be Sky Blue Sky light. I don't really know what songs will be a mainstay in these shows coming up. After the residency, they have played pretty close to everything. I have a feeling we'll be hearing more stuff from Summerteeth, if I were to pick an album. Anyone think they'll do a full on version of Fake Plastic Trees? And as far as the new songs go, you almost don't want to hear Bull Black Nova or anything else that is "new". It'd take the fun out of getting a new record in late June. There's only 4 songs I haven't heard out of the supposed 11. But of course I wouldn't be the least bit upset if they broke it out and I got to hear it say this time next week. Yeah, it sounds like i'm walking around in contradiction city. But I feel so are a few people on here who feel similarly. I'll take a stab at a phony setlist I'd like to see in a show this month. bcart12
I could handle a setlist like that. I don't think hearing any of the new material will hurt the new album for me at all. I love hearing new stuff live and getting that vibe for the first time. I would love to hear these tunes on Tuesday 4/14: KingpinCasino QueenSide With the SeedsMisunderstoodSpiders (Kidsmoke)War On WarHate It HereCan't Stand ItHandshake Drugs I just picked tunes that I think they will more than likely play. I didn't shoot for the ultra rare stuff. Been rocking Casino Queen lately, always brings a smile to my face. My buddy and I will be in the third row seats 5 & 6 for the Tuesday show if anyone wants to come say hello. Always nice to meet fans and put a name with a face. Gobias Industries
I don't think they'll really indulge in the covers too much (though they could and should). Otherwise they'll just incorporate the new tunes and bump out a couple of rarities and a "lesser-liked" main tune, if such a thing even existed .

stagerug
I'm holding out hope for another Chicago residency set, which Jeff said they would do this year too, in that tour gap from late June to mid-August.

barnyard pimp
I'm holding out hope for another Chicago residency set, which Jeff said they would do this year too, in that tour gap from late June to mid-August. Has he actually said that? (Aside from his comments on night 5 at last year's residency) .. Last I'd heard they were talking 2010 instead? I'd probably skip west coast shows (unless they were in my backyard) if I knew there was another residency this year...

I'm not expecting it, but it would be fantastic.

zebra
Anybody from the LA area know which show will be busier at the Wiltern Theater? Or does it not matter? I'm thinking of getting tickets to either show.
