Good Old Neon
this thread was going just fine until you posted that bit Good Old Neon. How dare you. I posted that to start a dialog regarding Jackson’s milf and/or gilf-itude. I felt that the conversation regarding Palin had become circular in nature, and so yeah, Jackson. Sir Stewart
Jackson was barely even a SNLMILF in her prime.
MattZ
Nice save, G.O.N. For the record, Jackson was never an ILF no matter what the first intial is.
Good Old Neon
I think my crush on her lasted about as long as it took her to do that little Mrs. Clause dance thing on Dennis Miller’s news desk – the other SNL cast member to go all right wing dickhead on us. At one time, Miller would have gone at Palin like the big empty piñata that she is, now the asshat actually defends her. The cognitive dissonance in his head must me painful and deafening. He looked at the potential of being a conservative pundit and said "there's gold in them thar hills."There's no money in left-wing commentating.

He looked at the potential of being a conservative pundit and said "there's gold in them thar hills."I totally believe this. He 180ed right after 9/11, which was convenient, because he can chalk up his change of heart to "waking up" to the way of the world. Also:

I don’t know, of all the political comics out there, Miller was in the perfect position to capitalize on Bush’s blunders. From a comics standpoint, given the success of The Daily Show, Bill Maher, Lewis Black, etc. it would appear as though the real money to be made is in attacking the right. To a large degree, today’s comics live and die through the successful use of irony, and traditionally, irony has always been a tool of the left, not the right. If he claims to have experienced a conversion following 9/11, I’m inclined to take him at his word. But it must be hell for someone of his intellect and talent to sit idly by with rich comedic gold like Palin at center stage.

If he's truly a conservative now, and I believe he is, he could get a lot of traction from conservatives like me who see right through her shallowness. Sure, he's lose a few of the FoxNews crowd, but oh well.
JUDE
A friend of mine is a MILF and a GILF and she's only 39. I didn't know you went that way. No wonder my advances were ignored.
bjorn_skurj
Jesus, what is it with people and socialized medicine? Don't they realize that anything has got to be better than what we have now, with all the money we spend on dishing out emergency room care to people who come in with shit that could have been prevented easily if they had some sort of option for doing so? I mean, show me the sick person who is all like, "Well, I am very sick but since I have no health insurance, I obviously deserve to suffer and die and leave the health care to my betters." If he's truly a conservative now, and I believe he is, he could get a lot of traction from conservatives like me who see right through her shallowness. Sure, he's lose a few of the FoxNews crowd, but oh well. True, but I think you, and like, seven other people are the only sane conservatives left. The following reader submission was just posted on Andrew Sullivan’s blog, so, including this guy, yourself and Sullivan, I know of at least three. There could be more out there I suppose, but you sure as shit wont find them on Palin’s Facebook page. Now, if there were only a way to sterilize folks who visit and post positive feedback on her site… Anyways, the letter: To make me easier to stereotype, I'm been a Republican for 10 years, and I'm one of those small-town-raised, Ivy-educated, conservative finance guys in the North. I've always maintained that, based on my personal principles, when the GOP presents a good candidate it trumps the Dem candidate, so my 'option' to vote in a Republican primary is more valuable - even if I sometimes vote across party lines in the actual election. Right now, the frustrating thing about the GOP is it appears to be searching for meaning, and finding it in an obsession with protecting anyone who will raise their banner. Instead of being policy-based, the GOP leaders apparently think my vote is analogous to rooting for a sports team: somehow, I'm more interested in seeing the party 'win' than 'legislate effectively'.This Palin nonsense took me over the brink: why is my party defending her? What exactly is she doing that adds any value to America? Yet, no one seems ready to denounce her. Jesus, what is it with people and socialized medicine? Don't they realize that anything has got to be better than what we have now, with all the money we spend on dishing out emergency room care to people who come in with shit that could have been prevented easily if they had some sort of option for doing so? For a good time, post that on Palin's Facebook page, and then just sit back and watch teh stupid.
bjorn_skurj
Are people in Canada, Great Britain and France dropping dead because their health care is rationed? Geez, haven't heard of that. In fact, since all three of those countries AND 54 OTHERS rank ahead of the U.S. in life expectancy, they must be doing something right.

The closest thing we have to socialized medicine in America is the VA system, and I can tell you that preventative medicine doesn't get practiced. And even when it is attempted, patient compliance is so poor that it's almost irrelevant. Are people in Canada, Great Britain and France dropping dead because their health care is rationed? Geez, haven't heard of that. In fact, since all three of those countries AND 54 OTHERS rank ahead of the U.S. in life expectancy, they must be doing something right. If you accounted for accidental deaths, homicides, and obesity which are higher in America, our life expectancy would actually be at the top.

caliber66
Doesn't that suggest, though, that the problem is not with the system but with the public?
