mahinty
I thought it was "Cissy Strut" by The Meters.I agree, "Cissy Strut" (which is called "Missy Strut" on "The Original Funkmasters" compilation, for some reason) is pretty damn close. Well spotted!

cracked & hooked
I'm "working at home" today, but this looks worth changing out of my pjs for for a quick run to the newsstand. I can always put them back on.

thisyearsgirl
In the Spin picture posted previously here, I see that the Tweedy's have the Seeburg jukebox of my dreams. I have been wanting one my entire life. Someday...
cracked & hooked
Anytime, can't wait for this to hit stands myself as I let my Spin subscription lapse eons ago. It hit. I got it. I almost got both of the copies that were there, but I decided to leave one on the off chance that there's another Wilco fan in my town. I haven't opened it yet cause I'm still "working." Good for you, I haven't been so lucky - the Barnes & Noble near my office still has the Prince issue. And by the Prince issue, I'm not talking about his weird androgyny. Livin' in New Orleans
I found a lone copy hiding at the top of the music section in the magazine aisle at my grocery store, turned backwards Does anyone know a few places where Spin would be sold?
Three dollars and 63 cents
I found it in my grocery store, but I'm sure you could find it at most chain bookstores and even the big box stores like Target and Wal-Mart and the like. I'd say it's probably the easiest music magazine to find besides Rolling Stone. I was surprised to find it already--I figured it wouldn't turn up here until next week, since I'm in a pretty small city.
j-hen
Nice article. I found it at Walmart.
H.Stone
They don't carry SPIN at the local Target, Walmart, or Waldenbooks. W(tf)?

wilconut
I've been having a hell of a time finding the new Spin. My local Borders and Walmart both don't have it. Sweet mother...
mahinty
I’m not holding out a lot of hope of finding a copy down here in NZ. I’m thinking about resorting to e-Bay. Desperate times.

Dude
Spin has a free subscription to their Digital Edition here: http://digital.spin.com/spin/200907/?u1=texterity Click on the link, then click on Free Subscription in the upper left hand corner to subscribe. It doesn't look like it has the August issue online yet, but you can see the past couple of years - pretty cool.

Man, what a month to have my subscription run out! I checked two different Borders, two different Jewel stores, Walgreens, and CVS in the days since VC people have said they have found theirs and had no luck. Either they no longer carry Spin (most cases) or had the issue with Prince out (Jewel). FYI Chicagoans: Erin found it at the Book Cellar in Lincoln Square today here in Chicago. Go get it!
