W(TF)
I don't know how anyone could not get behind this idea... why would it be kind of boring? Hearing Wilco play Heavy Metal Drummer for the 20th is boring. This would be fantastic to be at. An actual one of a kind show from Wilco. I meant, if I pick one of MY favorite albums, I doubt if I would find the entire thing that interesting or enjoyable. As opposed to one of the band's faves, which probably would be really amazing. But....if I picked a random bunch of my favorite songs and then Wilco performed them live for me in a single, My Terms kind of show, that might be a lot of fun. Well that's the challenge of this exercise. To come up with something you'd like to hear, and at the same time the band would do justice. I mean, I love Gnarls Barkley's first album, but I don't see Wilco doing a very good job of it.

augurus
Seduction is the name of the game. We might need all former members to return to pull this tight one.
Jesusetc84
I always thought they'd have an interesting take on Electric Warrior. I know Jeff is (or at least was at one point) a T. Rex fan.

Sweet Papa Crimbo
Ok...I give in. Could bring out the All Pros here. I think that Jeff would love to give in to his inner Celtic Soul jones.

Ghost of Electricity
I was listening to "Whatever Happened I Apologize" again the other day and again it struck me (like it did when I first listened to it) that some of these songs would sound great with Jeff singing. Iowan
"Boys and Girls in America" by the Hold Steady. If anyone could do Craig Finn, it's Jeff Tweedy. My 2nd vote would be "Brighter than Creation's Dark" by Drive-By Truckers. If it was just a song that they don't already cover (as far as I know), ever since I started listening to Wilco, I've imagined Jeff Tweedy singing "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band" (the song). mfwahl
I like Band on the Run & Lola versus Powerman and the Moneygoround, Part One as choices but my top choice would have to be Crooked Rain Crooked Rain.
Lammycat
Hate to do a compilation but there's enough here for the core of the show. Iowan
NO GOD NOOOOO! NOO!O!OOOOOO!O!OOO!O!!!! Wilco would kick ass on both of those albums. Great albums by great bands. I can't imagine someone w/taste in music disliking either...
Guest Alan
I can't imagine someone w/taste in music disliking either...DBT I don't really care much about either way, but THS is grating to me. And I certainly have taste in music. Some might even say it's GOOD taste.

Contradiction much?
perfectecho
I haven't followed up, but wasn't there talk of them doing a record club release with Beck on Skip Spence's Oar? Did I imagine that, I don't think so. It could be gloriously freaky enough for the group, and if they wanted to, a lot of those songs could be reimagined to incorporate some noise and krautrock and such things. I hope it happens. Iowan
So...you can't imagine someone with taste not liking THS, but you can see how people wouldn't like the lead singer? Contradiction much? The original comment was somewhat in jest. Also, take Rush for example. I think Geddy Lee is a terrible singer w/an annoying voice, yet I still enjoy the band due to the instrumental ass kicking that he, Lifeson, and Peart pull off. You don't have to like every element of a band to enjoy them overall/respect what they do.

I like the music of Neutral Milk Hotel, but I cannot stand Jeff Mangum's voice, so I can't listen to any NMH records. I love interesting/unique voices. But if I don't like a band's vocal style, there's a very small chance of me liking their music overall.
