Recommended Posts

I nice -6 page run on Wilco, the loft, and Nels' Jazzmaster...cool stuff, like the nudie suits, don rickles' autograph, and esoteric guitars in Jeff's collection...i cant remember if you guys have discussed or seen it yet...nice pics too...

I will scan it an send out if requested, I dont want to break any forum rules or totally disrespect the magazine by posting it here...

I wondered why no one had put this up, besides Wilco having an amazing spread in this I would suggest this journal to anyone who loves music magzines and hates adds and all the bullshit stories about artists that you could give a fuck less to know about. It's quaterly and well worth the price, great writers, photos, and actual.....Hey,wow I didn't know that or That was something I would of never imagined learning about someone or something. They sit on my coffe table as a center piece....they really look that profesional.

I couldn't agree more, these magazines are great. I picked up the summer issue with Warren Haynes and have been hooked! I just picked up my Wilco copy, they seem to be in all the book stores here in RI, not sure about the rest of the world though :cheers

Yeah, this is a great magazine. I've never bought one, but every time I see one at Borders it is full of artist features and other articles I want to read. In addition to the artists already mentioned, recent issues have had features on Bill Frisell (as interviewed by Jim Hall), Richard Thompson and Neko Case. Maybe I'll look into getting a subscription.

I saw this at the grocery store today when I was looking for the new issue of Jazz Times that Nels is on the cover of. The article was a good read (or at least a good quick skim) and the pictures were nice, too. If it hadn't been $12.95, I would've picked it up. I still might go back for it.

The writing and photography are superb on this one. You can see every crevice of Nel's '59 Jazzmaster and there is a shitton on the Loft as well. Honestly, even non-gear nuts / non-guitar players will like the high production values of this magazine. It's sort of like an additional supplemental chapter to the Wilco Book.

Finally found this one at a local Borders. Great articles, great photographs, and something no one else has mentioned yet - the magazine smells great too!

The Wilco article was very cool, makes me want to buy even more guitars :).

I had heard that Wilco would be featured in this fall issue. Of course I procrastinated, and the book stores near where I live do not carry FJ (unless it was behind the Hot rod, knitting, and porn mags). So I was en route to Milwaukee to see Andrew Bird and, as a second thought, called a Borders to ask them if they still had the Wilco issue. The woman on the other end of the call put me on hold to look, and when she came back she told me no Wilco, Just a picture of a Hispanic man holding a guitar. My heart sank. I stopped anyway, thinking that maybe if I dig around I can find the fall issue.

Well damn!

I didn't know Jeff was Hispanic!

I guess you learn something new every day.

Great article. I'm a wannabe when it comes to collecting...

...used to hit the guitar with drum sticks after pulling off the strings? Nels!

i picked this magazine up two days ago at Barnes & Noble. I was excited to still see it on the shelves. The photographs are quite amazing, professionally lit, very detailed, lively, great enthusiatic interview with Jeff and Nels, you can just tell how much they love guitars and vintage gear. Tweedy mentioned he was sick at the time but couldnt miss talking about his gear.

I think this article was one of the more enjoyable articles ive read about Wilco; Cline/Tweedy.
