I knew this reeked of publicity stunt and on CNN of all places little Falcon ratted out his parents on live television.

Beautiful!

Although, I am very frustrated by these "parents" that try to make money by using their children as tools to achieve fame etc.

They & Jon & Kate make Ari Gold and a pimp look like Mr. Rogers.

Heck, throw them all away in a prison and throw the key away. These "parents" are insane and narcissistic.

I knew the dad looked familiar, and, sure enough - this family has appeared on Wife Swap.

And now we'll be hearing about this fucking brat for days. Great. I'll probably even know his name at some point soon.

His name is Falcon. I'll wager $1,000 that at least 500 kids will be born in the USA and given the name Falcon within the next 48 hours.

This was front page news around here today (Denver Post) as well as front page of the local setion and about 3-4 editorials. Ridiculous. I actually read part of one on the bus to work as I had managed to avoid most of the coverage/story up 'til now. Although if he was in the balloon when it touched down any decent live coverage would have to have included "The Falcon has landed."

How many "Balloon Boy"/"Boy in Box in Attic" halloween costumes do you think we'll see this year? :rolleyes

Balloon Boy would be a really easy costume for a pregnant woman. :lol Slap on a foil cape/mock parachute and call yourself the balloon.

Edit: NOT implying that the woman is fat when calling her the balloon at the end, but the "may or may not be a boy inside" angle.

Sheriff doesn't think runaway balloon was a hoax

"We were convinced yesterday after talking to the parents and havinginvestigators on scene that the parents were being honest with us,"

For some reason I don't think it was a hoax either.. The whole "it was for the show" comment the boy made means nothing. I have a six year old and he says some random stuff sometimes.

Except for the fact that the family already signed up for TV coverage by participating in Wife Swap, and was activelty campaigning for a new reality TV show. Other than those factors, I can't see why the family would actively seek a media event.

I, for one, welcome our new Zod overlord.
