W(TF)
I'm sure I'm missing some important people in the choices, I just can't think of who they are. It looks like I can edit the poll and make additions, but once the votes start I'm not sure I'll still be able to.
Shakespeare In The Alley
Gruff Rhys:Six SFA albums, two solo albums and the Neon Neon album. Josh Homme:Four QOTSA albums, TCV album, three Eagles of Death Metal albums, four Desert Sessions albums, production for the Arctic Monkeys and probably other production work I'm forgetting. Dave Grohl:Four Foo Fighters albums, TCV, Probot, and countless appearances on other albums. Those all qualify as damn prolific to me.

cryptique
Prolific can mean inventive or productive. I looked it up because I wondered the same thing. But in either case, it is characterized by abundance.
Shakespeare In The Alley
Yea, every definition of prolific i've seen has included words like many, plentiful, abundant. I just don't see how one album, unless it was 36 hours long, can be enough to make someone the most prolific artist of the decade.
Guest Speed Racer
I just don't see how one album, unless it was 36 hours long, can be enough to make someone the most prolific artist of the decade. Not that I agree with the statement, but if you count the demos, engineer demos, outtakes, EP, and who knows how many takes and outtakes we haven't heard - and also considering how many times each single song was completely reinvented or reworked - I would say that counts as invention, innovation, productivity as well as lengthy.
Winston Legthigh
Damon Albarn gets my vote.

I can see that. But in the context of this thread, I can't see how that can be an explanation. Jeff is a decent vote for all the albums he's done this decade, beyond YHF.
Guest Speed Racer
Jeff is a decent vote for all the albums he's done this decade, beyond YHF. But that was a pretty prolific period for him, no? I don't see what's wrong for basing a vote on the candidate's strongest achievement.
Shakespeare In The Alley
Well, with all the demos and such, I can see the argument now. But to me, the thread is about the entire body of work. If YHF was Jeff's only album of the decade, even with all the demos, that hardly qualifies him as one of the most prolific artists of the decade. That's how I see it by saying "I choose Jeff for YHF alone." Obviously count everything else in, and I'd agree, although my vote still goes to Josh Homme and Gruff Rhys.
Guest Speed Racer
That's how I see it by saying "I choose Jeff for YHF alone." So you're agreeing with the vote but disagree with the way someone phrased their explanation? Out of many artists who have produced tons of work this decade, I can't see why choosing the productive artist with what you consider a truly awesome album as your choice is somehow wrong because you chose to say, "I picked because this album, out of his many, is like, so totally awesome".
