jff
If you're using the logic I think you are, why wasn't this year's Gloria Estefan? I have no idea what you mean.
Sir Stewart
I have no idea what you mean. Oh. It's in Texas next year.
jff
Oh. It's in Texas next year. I was not aware of that. I think it'll be country because it's been rock/pop/prince for the last several years. I don't see them putting up another rock band next year. They're due for a country or R&B act. Or perhaps something along the lines of the Jonas Brothers, or something. I'll be surprised if next year's show is someone I care to see.
KramkonG
Can we dig up the "Up With People" folks and give that another go?
watch me fall
Or perhaps something along the lines of the Jonas Brothers, or something. I will probably ignore the whole shebang, game and all, if this happens.
LouieB
Can we dig up the "Up With People" folks and give that another go?I actually saw an Up With People show when I was in college. this thread jogged a memory I had long suppressed. LouieB
u2roolz
I will probably ignore the whole shebang, game and all, if this happens. Ricky Martin would be very past his expiration date. But no I literally just had this idea while eating lunch. Ok. Fox has it in 2011. I bet you that the cast of Glee will perform a 12 minute mashup/medley of hits new & old ANDGlee will use this footage in a future episode. ORFox will use this opportunity to get Glee Nation to tune into the Halftime show to see what they will do as if it's real in terms of the storyline.
Guest Runaway Jim
If they did the Saved by the Bell glee club, with guest star Tori Spelling, I'd probably watch. But if it's the cast of Glee, then I'll turn off the tv.
Sir Stewart
I predict They Might Be Giants next year.
Guest Speed Racer
If they did the Saved by the Bell glee club, with guest star Tori Spelling, I'd probably watch. But if it's the cast of Glee, then I'll turn off the tv. Only if they have the keytar, the perms, and the goofy lookin' bass.
lamradio
The sad part is half of the country probably doesn't know who The Who is except for "hey isn't that the song from CSI: Miami" Never been the biggest fan of the Who, but I enjoyed the performance (as much as one can enjoy 70 year old dudes trying their best to Rock).. The lights around the stage were cool.
jff
Fox has it in 2011. In that case...
jimtweedy1977
I vote for Neil Young & Pearl Jam together again. Actually, they should do an album together again as well. 'I'm The Ocean' still rocks.
tugmoose
Texas? I vote Willie (or at least Kinky).I actually saw Ted in the Cotton Bowl at the Texxas Jam 78. Along with ARS, Heart, Van Halen, Aerosmith and Cheech y Chong.
Beltmann
We started making Spinal Tap jokes almost immediately. I couldn't help but notice a certain resemblance between Zak Starkey and Nigel Tufnel...
watch me fall
But if it's the cast of Glee, then I'll turn off the tv. My avatar farts in your general direction. In a very polite and girlie way, of course.
cryptique
"Glee" is pretty much a fart with prime-time exposure, so I guess that's appropriate.
watch me fall
Big surprise there.
Central Scrutinizer
I enjoyed it. I thought it was definitely better than Springsteen or Petty. Petty defined going through the motions. The best ones I can think of are Prince, McCartney, and U2.I rewatched Prince's show when they were re-airing that SB on NFL Network last weekend. He rocked under adverse conditions, and with a (I didn't like it)* head scarf for all but the last song. They are going to be super cautious still about what act because of the "wardrobe malfunction." So it will be tame and likely non-R&B or non hip hop. * Parenthetic phrase provided by admin to replace homophobic comment
caliber66
I couldn't help but notice a certain resemblance between Zak Starkey and Nigel Tufnel... I was thinking more like Noel Gallagher crossed with a crazy Terry Gilliam.

Shakespeare In The Alley
I love Prince. But that scarf was rather, how you say, I didn't like it*. *italicized: admin edit to remove homophobic comment
