Jayson
Wilco is lame to, like 99.99999% of teenagers. Wilco's my favorite musical thing ever, and teenagers naturally try to share their favorite musical thing ever with their peers. I have given up on this. 99.9999% of teenagers don't get Wilco. I haven't found ANYONE else my age who even sort of likes them. I have yet to decide what this means...
ViaBuffalo
I'm a teenager and a bunch of my friends enjoy Wilco... but I can see where they are coming from. The stereotypical teenager listens to rap/pop music all the time and are not too receptive of the mid-tempo rock.
LouieB
Lots of adults don't get (or know about) Wilco. So what?? There are plenty of groups that teens don't like. I suppose Wilco is as good a target as any, but really.... LouieB

I suppose Wilco is as good a target as any, but really.... LouieB it's a joke. from a humor newspaper. and in a way it seems to be poking fun at the people who ARE caught hanging out at Wilco shows (hence the reason teens aren't). you're giving them more material. shoesgetcold3
Wilco was pretty cool when I was in college, but so were Courtney Love, UB40, and Ace of Base. I just want college kids doing whatever they want to do and if that is not listening to Wilco, good for them. I still would take it over my current lifestyle of doing nothing I want to do and listening to Wilco.

Just not all that funny, but then again the Onion writers are probably Wilco fans. LouieB
Gobias Industries
I found this funny. Take it as you will.
Sir Stewart
I'm just confused by the video game titles getting in the way of the punchlines. Not very Onion-y. I don't give a shit about Wilco being the butt of jokes, because funny is funny. And this is not really funny.

What Wilco fans find funny: Inserting “you highly messed up freak” into a board thread 38%. Anything involving cats 11%. "Rank the Wilco albums" 51%
MattZ
nah, SirS is right. This is a warmed over "dad rock" joke. The Onion is better than that.
jff
Anything involving cats 11%. I just started reading Dewey. OMG it is SO funny! But, yeah, that was not up there with The Onion's best work. "Dad Rock" joke. That's what? Ten years old?
Central Scrutinizer
nah, SirS is right. This is a warmed over "dad rock" joke. The Onion is better than that.I read a Sunday Washington Post feature on the Onion's staff. It is a meager existence; certainly not the cush job of Mad or Weekly World News legend. A lot of their slacker bits appear self-parody -- which means they have a broad audience!
Dude
If Wilco have to suck as badly as Green Day or Fall Out Boy do to appeal to a much wider audience of teenagers, then I'm really fucking glad they don't appeal to a lot of teenagers.
Guest Runaway Jim
nah, SirS is right. This is a warmed over "dad rock" joke. The Onion is better than that. The Onion is better than that, but let's be honest - The Onion misses on far more jokes than they hit on. This is a miss.
rockinrob
you miss 100% of the shots you dont take. I say that after every joke I tell that fails.

MWB
I got this on my Facebook wall the other day from a girl I grew up with: Diane XXXXXXX realizes many of you will disagree with me (and that's prefectly ok), but Wilco and Death Cab for Cutie make me want to stab out my eardrums with an icepick. I de-friended her immediately.
bjorn_skurj
Well, she has a good point about Death Cab.
