Synthesizer Patel
I began this ages and ages ago when this forum was going to do a cover's cd. But, it never happened, and i couldn't be arsed to finish it. It's only the very basic track - and i mean basic (drums, some synths, a tiny bit of percussion) It was going to be pretty layered up with sounds if I'd bothered finishing it and the vocal melody I came up with, but never recorded was a bit weird too. Imagine all that stuff on top of this, and you'll love it! Oh, it's a cover of I'm A Wheel. And i uploaded to youtube just now, for anyone to look at - with a pic of the general lee flying through the air, from the dukes of hazzard. I can't hard sell it anymore than that, surely! Golly gosh, it sounds terrible on youtube. What's the point in uploading it in good quality, when they do that to it?!
sgtpepper64
When I read the thing about the covers CD, I recorded "Another Man's Done Gone" because I love it. It's up here: http://www.myspace.com/thebeastsofengland if anyone is interested in hearing it. I thought that was a great idea, by the way, to put together a fan cover album. gogo
My niece and two of her friends did I'm Always in Love (on tin whistle, cello, and drums) for their school talent show a few years ago. I'll have to try to dig out the tape of that. There were a couple of covers CDs put out several years ago (there's also still a subforum down below, for the Tribute CDs). There was talk of a third, as well as a non-Wilco Tweedy tribute, but the folks who were the driving forces behind that have lives outside of VC, and it's hard to get a thing like that put together. I'm sure that if anyone wants to take over the organizing for another one, kidsmoke would be thrilled to get a PM from you. The first two are available in crappy mp3 versions here: http://maudiemc.com/VCTributes.htm There's some beautiful work on those. I'll try to find and post the credits for those songs tonight. Lots of folks that we don't hear from much anymore, and they are missed.

Bart
Here is my three year old son Jack doing his version of Handshake Drugs. I've never been more proud. Dude, that is awesome! I love the wailing solo he does in the middle and I'm really impressed how he remembered the words and for the most part delivered them at just the right pace. Somehow or another, Wilco needs to see this. I could see it as bounus track or hidden track on their next dvd.

He puts his "jweff tweedy" hat and jacket on, gets his mic stand and guitar, and "practices". It's nuts, he's getting better every day. When he plays along with The Late Greats his strumming is almost right on. His other favorites are You Are My Face and Monday. A couple weeks ago he said "I had a dream about Nels Cline. He was talking to me and playing guitar!" I can't wait until I can take him to a Wilco show.
