choo-choo-charlie
http://www.muzzleofbees.com/2010/09/03/wisco-a-tribute-to-wilcos-summerteeth/ It's not very good though... I personally did not care for the Summerteeth tribute either, although I applaud the musicianship. I think the covers took a lot of the great melodies and turned them into not-melodies... auctioneer69
He'd have to go for some more obscure stuff. The Wilco cover of "Thirteen" and Tweedy's solo cover of "Simple Twist of Fate" add absolutely zero to the originals. Covers for the most part are fun live but pointless on record. PopTodd
I would love to hear Jeff do a cover of "Dark End of the Street".Or maybe something by Nick Lowe -- "Here Comes the Weekend" would be fun, or "Teacher, Teacher".
lizish
over the years, isn't there a really good collection of official released covers anyway. Ie strangers, sugar baby, Love and Mercy, the whole of Mermaid Avenue(s), Henry and the H-bombs etc.

Ie strangers, sugar baby, Love and Mercy, the whole of Mermaid Avenue(s), Henry and the H-bombs etc. Yes, there are lots of covers released, and also there's a terrific fan-made collection of live covers from various shows. It's a 2-disc compilation put together by VC's own pneyu way back in 2003, and it is fabulous. It's called "Someone Else's Song - The Covers Project" Hazel, drop me a pm and I'll get you a copy, maybe we can get this spread around again. Jeff himself even has a copy, which I gave him after the legendary GAMH show in Jan. 2003.

Sweet Papa Crimbo
he covered tear stained eye? nice. too bad pink moon isn't on that list. thanks, kidsmoke When I heard Jeff do Tear Stained eye, I got the distinct impression that he was taking the piss out of the crowd, i.e. a tongue in cheek version. I'm not really sure it was Jeff's best moment.
choo-choo-charlie
Many of the tracks listed in that compilation are just song fragments or flat-out jokes. The Being There-era Wilco would occasionally throw in a snippet of "Drown" before scrapping it for something else...

Speaking of which, the next time we're in that in-between period where Wilco hasn't put out an album let's all band together and create a Tweedy compilation of his banter.Unless if it already exists.
