Clearly, this is the band's response to the various threads on here about their last album and this one coming up.

I don't know. They seem to be really close together in the studio which translates into another folksy record. :ninja (sarcasm)

The years have treated him well - that was my first thought, too. Nels is looking a little jowly, but you can't really pick on a man that age.

John looks exactly the same as he did on the Anodyne tour.

they are all sitting down while recording. hopefully this won't be a soft, slow record. you know, sit down rock record......ha

Hey, my favorite version of K/Camera is the one from IATTBYH, and Jay is sitting down for that one.

What makes me the most nervous is that Jeff is holding an acoustic in all the photos. I think he plays a mean electric, perfect for conveying the emotions of the songs he writes. I'll be sad if he doesn't bust out the electric at all. (Though in their defense, it seems to be a limited batch of photos from a particular day.)

I've never once stood up while recording (unless I was just singing) and I've made some hard rock recordings.. It's just easier to play sitting down, especially for the long recording sessions.

The Rock can still be achieved while sitting down my friend. :thumbup

Yeah. A lot of these could have been shot during recording of just one tune.

I still can't get over the eerie juxtaposition of Pat's 17 year-old boy face and his 50-something Unabomber beard. It looks like it's pasted on or something.

As a 50 year old with a baby face, I can tell you with a great degree of certainty that Pat probably isn't thrilled with the juxtaposition either.

Also, it's a little highschoolish to make fun of somebody's appearance.

Am I making fun of them? What else are we supposed to do with photos aside from comment on the band's appearance? Would you like me to critique the songs?

I think the loft still has heating issues. I know a heating guy(me) who might be able to make it more comfortable...

Below is a great shot, nice shot of all the equipment, including the camera bag, in the shot.

Maybe the heating system makes too much noise and they need to turn the heat down when they record. But that could just be the old soundman in me.

I knew you were going to assume I was talking about you. Truth be told, I was too lazy to multi-quote the glasses and Bob Weir fixation quips. You get a pass.
