ih8music
Or calling people sheeple. Just love that. Speaking of which, where's Sparky?
Mr. Heartbreak
Calling people sheeple is uncool, no matter which side of the fence you're on.I almost miss Sparky coming on here and getting me all fired up. I guess it's a dark day in Ron-Paul-land, what with the Mittster officially sewing up the nomination.

I wanted to scream in his face, We're angry because our country is killing hundreds of thousands of innocent women and children in a war based on false intelligence, you moron! ih8music
What's happening in Syria is tragic... but with China and Russia blocking any UN-backed military action, I'm not sure what more the administration can do. Increasing diplomatic pressure is about the only tool they have to work with right now.

They declare "bankrupcty" and Bain Capital makes triple their buy in invesment and the 3 white boys triple their yearly pay and the 200 working men and women eat SHIT. How many American families do you think were affected by that???

BTW I think IRDB was referring to this: Bain and GS Techand forgot to mention he government was on the hook for 44 million. But Gov't bailouts are bad. Yes this is legal and within the law, but come on honestly do see this as fair to the workers and taxpayers?

Yeah I didn't understand the parallels between going into war with Iraq and what is happening in Syria when it was first presented. There are plenty of nations where the leader kills and oppresses its people (some of them are our biggest trading partners). The US cannot go into each country and solve its problems. Yes it sucks for the Syrian people, but what are we to do? Send it troops and kick the Syrian government out? Do then go into country X next? Where does it stop? The US cannot be the policemen of the world. There is an international organization (UN) that should be able to confront this problem.

I guess they all forgot how most people really feel about cops, because they were rather surprised to find out how many people around the world hate us for that very reason...not, as some on the right have suggested, because they "hate freedom." (An absurd trope if ever there was one.) For better or worse, most Americans have finally come around to the position that maybe we should not be constantly at war with someone or other...whether it's from 20-30 years of war weariness, or from the simple realization that we literally just cannot afford it anymore. I didn't mention W. He doesn't have any claim on our inactivity in Syria. Last time I checked, W was living in Texas, going to a few baseball games and frequenting local coffee shops. The inaction of the world's leading democracy in addressing Syria is ALL on Mr. Obama's dime. Again, what more do you think we should be doing? We've imposed economic sanctions & diplomatic pressure on Syria. We're negotiating with the Russians and Chinese for them to impose their own sanctions and stop preventing the UN from taking action. What else would you like to see us do? Do you want us to go it alone and invade like a certain other president (that you don't like people mentioning) did? Again, it's tragic what's going on in Syria... but in no way is it worth another war, and certainly not in isolation. This shit happens all the time; the world is a terrible place sometimes. Does that mean we always need to be the ones who send our troops in to stop it? Hell no.
