howdjadoo
How is that Farrar/Gibbard collaboration? I never listened to it... Like it however Farrar's voice is sometimes quickly borowing to me: BTW it's on "Spotify"
choo-choo-charlie
Jeff Tweedy, Harper College, March 1999 -- on Owl & Bear. Maybe the best Tweedy recording out there. You can hear a pin drop, lots of Summerteeth songs, almost sounds like what Bob Egan might have heard through hotel walls, listening to Jeff write those tunes on tour. jokin' dealer
How is that Farrar/Gibbard collaboration? I never listened to it... I think it's great. If you think about it, some of Jay's best stuff is softer/acoustic (Windfall, Tear Stained Eye) and this entire record is that way. The Ben Gibbard sung songs are strong as well. IMO, the entire record just seems to flow from start to finish.

Very respectful crowd, and a certain ambience that isn't so much as tension you can cut with a knife but synergy you can cut with a knife? Don't know how to describe it but it is one of those recordings you can throw the headphones on and be there.

slice_oftheday
The Farrar/Gibbard CD is great, but I think Jay's voice sounds better on live set they played for some radio station, the recording is somewhere on Dime,

Welsh Rich
How is that Farrar/Gibbard collaboration? I never listened to it... I listen to it a lot, certainly in the car, got a great road-trip vibe to it and a lovely smooth production.

Listened to the Farrar/Gibbard record a few times this weekend -- might be a grower for me. There's a live set on NPR: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=114010246.
