Atticus
Best Wilco show I've seen. Blew Dallas show off the map--felt like a different band. suites
Looks awesome...hope it was recorded and will be shared. Reservations to start.........................sweet No OSM...first time in many shows (too lazy to research).
bböp
No OSM...first time in many shows (too lazy to research). No OSM is one thing, but I can't recall seeing too many shows in the past nine years without both IATTBYH and Jesus, etc. Jeff had some funny banter about the Grammy nomination and how he just knew they were going to lose to the Foo Fighters again. Dave Grohl...what an asshole...I mean, really nice guy...I mean, asshole. Haha. He also used a Rickenbacker I hadn't seen before on I'm Always In Love. All in all, you couldn't really ask for much more out of a show.
bleedorange
That's about as close to a perfect setlist as they can get. And I got stuck with the crappy Dallas show and Dallas crowd. Dallas sucks.
choo-choo-charlie
I really, really hope my face melts tomorrow.
alfonzo
It was an amazing show. Great crowd. I love being in Austin, there is something about this place which brings out the best in bands. The venue is one of my favourites. About the 5th time I've been there, but first time standing on the floor. Words can't describe how good the sound was. The light show was great as well, I don't recall them having such a good light show before. I was debating with a friend which Being There song they might play, thinking they'd just play one. Misunderstood early, then that end to the main set was something else. Those 3 songs as one continuous performance, have they done that before? Show wasn't overly long, they came on at 9.15pm and finished about 11.10pm.. Wouldn't have minded a couple of extra songs, even the classics like Jesus or Via Chicago (would have been nice singalongs with the crowd), but really no complaints whatsoever. So many songs I didn't think they'd play ... at least not all in the same show together. Nels' performance on Germany with Duane Allman's guitar was a sight to behold. Not sure he's ever played that song better. Jeff made some funny comments about him being the "82nd best guitarist of all time" in Rolling Stone mag.
choo-choo-charlie
Those 3 songs as one continuous performance, have they done that before? I'm pretty sure they have. In 2007 at CrossroadsKC the second encore went Red-Eyed & Blue >> I Got You >> Casino Queen >> Outtasite >> Spiders. It was unbelievable. They played four tracks from A.M. that night. Still counts as my #1 Wilco show.
choo-choo-charlie
WOW!!! Now THAT is a freaking great set list. Muzzle of Bees, Pot Kettle Black, Always In Love, She's A Jar, Standing O, I'm a Wheel, the 3 straight Being There songs.....dang. Agreed. Fantastic all-around. From Red-Eyed & Blue onward is one hell of a way to sign off.

chrisfgee
Have to agree about the Venue. Great place. Had a great view of everyting but the drum set. Jeff seemed really happy during outamind, huge smile. Nils seemed to be more out front. In the past it seemed like he hid behind all of his gear. Perhaps becaue of my expecatations or my angle, I was not that blown away by the lights, but with music that good they could have played with house lights and it would have been great. I liked the artsy videos they had a few tours ago.

luke79
He meant Walking The Cow, and they rarely play that. Seeing them next in Tempe. Hope it's as great as Austin was. Kinda thought Austin would have been more of the barn burner shows I've read about them doing before at Stubbs and what not. But still, it was great to see them in Austin for the first time. TemplePilot
I knew I should have just driven to Austin instead of Dallas.
Nez
you absolutely should have just driven to Austin - it is one of those classic venues like the Ryman that you know is going to bring out the best in the band (saw both of those). Was a little worried hearing the bad press in Dallas, but this show was intriguing. Opening with Reservations was awesome (never heard it live) - they've been opening with AOA or OSM for almost the entire new tour, including the ATL and Ryman gigs. The hollow body Rickenbacher that Jeff was playing was only upstaged by Nels on Duane's guitar (that's the 4th show I've seen that guitar at now! . Jeff was in a very lively mood, with a lot of banter - the remarks about the RS issue and Nels being 82nd was priceless. What was the song he played the harp on?!? That was a first for me as well! I was on the floor about 4 off the stage in front of Pat, with a great view. I didn't think Nick was on musically, but he did look and feel like he was enjoying it. He was all smiles during the 2nd encore, as the house was screaming out the lyrics. The recording will be worth hearing Jeff's banter alone, but this was a set to remember. Hope its a clean one! BTW, if you have any decent photos of that Rickenbacher or of the band that night, pm me please!
JAK2112
What was the song he played the harp on?!? That was a first for me as well Did this happen? Never heard of that, would be very interested to hear about it though
bböp
Did this happen? Never heard of that, would be very interested to hear about it though Nez means the harmonica, I think, and it was She's A Jar (though an actual harp on a Wilco song would be...interesting. Joanna Newsom doing anything these days? :-))
chrisfgee
Speaking of She's a Jar. The banter about the on-line requests was funny and fascinating. Bottom line they do read the requests and if they see something they like they play it. If not well no harm done, perfect system I think he called it.
