Ghost of Electricity
She's got the world's attention and she provokes serious debate.

Ghost of Electricity
for example, the rights to practice religion, the right to freedom of expression, and where to draw the line when these come into conflict.
suites
Really...I don't think she has brought anything that new to the table. In fact she took a lot form other artists (Madonna / David Bowie MJ.....). When is "line dancing" just another line dance....this is what they all do. I think the days of "Rock Stars" having a wide cultural impact went away with the 60's. Don't get me wrong she has huge talent as a songwriter and performer but I think the youth of today knows about the religious and sexual orientation options....they don't need a rock star that charges $100+ for tickets. Shakespeare In The Alley
yeah its just unbelievable that there are people who are attracted to people and not specific sexual organs

I'm considering the media to be her medium. the 21st century media of the internet as well as the traditional mass media. she plays them all like an instrument. Shakespeare In The Alley
the chorus of bad romance alone makes her superstar status worthwhile the rest of the song is pretty lame, but that chorus. man.

lost highway
I think the "substance" of Lady Gaga is one of the most over-exaggerated takes on an artist in the pop media right now. I think Justin Bieber is just as interesting as Lady Gaga (which is to say only kinda) and someone like Justin Timberlake is much more interesting. Homogenized dance pop with weird costumes...... meh. Moss
I'm impressed with anyone that writes their own songs but other than that, I think she tries way too hard to be edgy and exciting and she bores me to tears.
IRememberDBoon
i like that song "Born this way" having lived in dupont im the most pro gay straight man you will find on planet earth so you guys think a man can be bisexual for reals?
Ghost of Electricity
I don't know a single Lady Gaga song, and my original point had nothing to do with music. Her medium is the media, both new and traditional. Whether or not she tries hard to be edgy is irrelevant. What matters is that she gets a reaction and gets people talking. Shakespeare In The Alley
so you guys think a man can be bisexual for reals?absolutely. and besides that, why would it be any more or less believable for a man than a woman?
Ghost of Electricity
Banned Jakarta shows might happen:Â http://www.nme.com/news/lady-gaga/63935?utm_source=Twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=Twitter-ladygaga
Guest Jules
So you guys think a man can be bisexual for reals? Yes I think it's possible for a man to enjoy fucking both men and women. Why is this so hard to believe?
ih8music
I'm feeling an Andrew Dice Clay joke coming soon.
moxiebean
Honestly, I don't see all that much about her in the media. Then again, I'm not out there looking for her - I guess I'm not reading the right newspapers.
Lammycat
If she's the greatest artist of the 21st C (so far), I'm glad the century has barely begun. She's un-orginal in thinking she's original. Sounds like other artists, dresses like other artists, likes to try and stir up talk by being so "shocking" in antics/words, etc. She's a talented singer, musician, and entertainer but beyond that she's more hype than substance, imo.  And, for the record (in case some of you are keeping a record of stuff like this), I believe in bi-sexuals like I believe in leprechauns. gogo
so you guys think a man can be bisexual for reals? I still can't decide if this is for real or not. IRDB, do you ever read Dan Savage? His Letter of the Day on his blog yesterday was about this very thing: http://slog.thestran...thank-you-noted
