I actually have some sympathy for the poor bastard.  He's knee deep in smelly assholes.  Before you blow a gasket, I'm not saying I agree with anything the Republicans have done on this, I'm just able as a human to have some sympathy for having to be the poster boy for it all.

I don't disagree, it is not a job that I would want by any means.  But at this point it appears that there is enough votes to pass a clean CR and end this thing.  So really it is now up to him and him alone.  As much as he cries about the how the President should negotiate with him, it will not and should not happen.  He is the poster boy by his own means.  It is pretty cut and dry IMHO the GOP does not have a leg to stand on with the Shutdown.

I keep thinking what would happen if the Dems tried to pull this shit with something like gun control.

Regardless of what happens with this I think Boehner is done as Speaker.

You can't make this shit up...

Wow, someone has a lot of time on their hands, and a lot of misplaced anger.  Seriously?  This is the level of discord, now?  There a lot of things wrong with ACA.  But let's bring out the stupidest pointless ones.

And by the way with the 1 in there it makes no sense.  but yeah ACA is a big fuck you to people.

Why am I NOT surprised.

Someone who does something like this has absolutely nothing to do with any kind of left or right or any political opinions.  After all, I'm pretty sure left and right don't exist in outer space.

Democrats to introduce a discharge petition to end shutdown.

The political nerd in me is loving all of the politics and procedural moves taking place.  It will be interesting if the discharge plan works or even gets off the ground.  If it does succeed it could really be the final nail in the GOP's coffin.

On the other hand, I just wish the GOP would come to their senses and just pass a clean CR.

As Neil Cavuto just noted on Fox this morning, an article in the Washington Times highlights just how petty and vindictive the Obama administration has become toward the American people during the current “shutdown.” The Washintgon Times article notes the following:

“The Park Service appears to be closing streets on mere whim and caprice. The rangers even closed the parking lot at Mount Vernon, where the plantation home of George Washington is a favorite tourist destination. That was after they barred the new World War II Memorial on the Mall to veterans of World War II. But the government does not own Mount Vernon; it is privately owned by the Mount Vernon Ladies' Association. The ladies bought it years ago to preserve it as a national memorial. The feds closed access to the parking lots this week, even though the lots are jointly owned with the Mount Vernon ladies. The rangers are from the government, and they’re only here to help.

‘It’s a c...heap way to deal with the situation,’ an angry Park Service ranger in Washington says of the harassment. ‘We’ve been told to make life as difficult for people as we can. It’s disgusting.’”

And Todd Starnes reports that the military has “furloughed as many as 50 Catholic chaplains due to the partial suspension of government services, banning them from celebrating weekend Mass. At least one chaplain was told that if he engaged in any ministry activity, he would be subjected to disciplinary action.”

These are the sorts of vicious political games one would expect from a disciple of Saul Alinsky. Shameful.
