uncool2pillow
The Hagar and "class reunion" bits were gold. Also, the frequent use of the word, "fuck". I really liked that.

lost highway
I did enjoy the Sammy Hagar stuff. The "jet ski salesman." With the bikini dancers. That was the funniest part, and it was Tweedy's. Garlin didn't bug me though.

smells like flowers
I'm confused. I got all snuggled in with my headphones to listen to this, and it started sounding familiar. The part right at the beginning where JT talks about Van Halen bringing pretty girls backstage. I know I've heard that. Has this aired before and been posted on VC? Or am I just crazy or psychic? No, I heard that too somewhere. I can't remember where, but some snippets got released right after they recorded this conversation. But keep listening--you'll find a lot of new stuff and much to love!

But keep listening--you'll find a lot of new stuff and much to love! There were some things he talked about with Garlin that he also talked about on the Nerdist podcast back in February. I think they were probably both recorded at about the same time when they played 4 shows in LA in January 2012. He talked about playing several shows in LA in both podcasts and they only played Hollywood Bowl in the fall so it must be an older recording.
samuel70
I made a ringtone out of Jeff's Sammy Hagar impersonation. Get it here. I know. I've got too much time on my hands.
smells like flowers
That was an extremely entertaining interview/conversation! I laughed out loud multiple times. While I kept hearing references to JT talking about shitting his pants, I somehow missed the actual account of it (or maybe it did get edited out). Either way, I was glad not to hear the details of that particular moment!
Chinese Apple
I was glad not to hear the details of that particular moment!Me too! Hearing a graphic description of an object of worship defecating -- be it Jesus, Buddha or Jeff Tweedy -- would constitute a theological crisis.

I've got too much time on my hands.Oh my god, that is hilarious! I wish my life was freewheeling enough to make that my ringtone for someone, but with my luck that would go off at a meeting and I'd get canned for sure. Just brilliant, though. knotgreen
From Jeff Garlin's "AMA" on Reddit: I loved seeing your live shows with Guster, do you think that you would ever try doing that again? What did you like most about touring with a band rather than on a comedy tour [–]jeffgarlin[S] 18 points 14 hours ago oh i really want to, and we've even talked about it! As a matter of fact, I will be doing some shows with Jeff Tweedy in December. What i liked most was the companionship - going on the road as a comedian is awfully lonely. A few months ago Guster did an acoustic tour with him. Garlin did a brief stand up set & then came out to MC during some of Guster's set. Perhaps he and Tweedy have something similar planned.... Great find! Good old Jeff Garlin can't keep his mouth shut. I hope this tour won't be just on the west coast.
uncool2pillow
I am so glad Tweedy was on his podcast, otherwise it probably would not have come across my horizon. They are consistently hilarious and interesting.
Magnetized
A bit off topic, but my current favorite podcast is Marc Marion's. He goes deep and he has an unexpected and original twist on things, always brutally honest. If you haven't heard the one with David Sedaris you should listen right now. I would love to see what he could get out of Jeff.
