Looks like the new album with Mavis has been announced for release immediately following Solid Sound. And One True Vine will now get a proper release!

This just in: Mavis and Tweedy are back! The winning combo that nabbed a Grammy a couple years ago for "You Are Not Alone", are re-teaming for a new album: "One True Vine" coming on 6/25.

im aware, yes

theyve also been known to bring back and rework songs and that one always felt more like a tweedy solo demo than a finished wilco song. i like the song quite a bit so i hoped theyd make it something even greater for a future album or something

To me, the song sounds perfect as it is.

It's like that song was written for her. And I actually think it has had an unfinished feel, something that wasn't complete, even though its melody and words are memorable. Good bones, but not fully fleshed out. Not that Wilco couldn't still do something great with the song as well, but it seems perfect for Mavis's sensibility.

By the way, I just heard on the Today show that one of the most popular new baby names in 2013 is Mavis. Huh?!

Here's a very cool video from Mavis, featuring Jeff and Spencer and the Loft!

That is my favorite that I've heard from her work with Jeff. Something else on One True Vine might beat this out, but I'm doubting it. Love the sound of her voice over that semi-noisy sound. Mavis-edgy.

So much Parliament influence on this record from what I've heard (obviously a Parliament song too).  But the gnarly fuzz guitar, and grindy bass over spare funky drums on "I like the things about me."  Very cool.

Wait, I mean Funkadelic.  Those two get mixed up in my head.

Though you're also somewhat right with Parliament, if we're talking Parliament's 1970 record "Osmium." That one is pretty much a Funkadelic record in everything but name. It's also probably the most eclectic release in the Parliament/Funkadelic oeuvre (can't think of another release of theirs that has funk, country, rock and psych all on one record.)

I could picture Mavis doing this one, especially back in the day with the Staple Singers:
