worldrecordplayer
From Wilco's Facebook page: "Condolences to the entire Tweedy family on the loss of Jeff's older brother last night. Greg Tweedy 1957-2013, R.I.P."
Plumplechook
Very sad. Don't know the circumstances - but 56 is way too young. Tough time for Jeff and the rest of the Tweedy family. Condolences.

Magnetized
Jeff is the baby of the family, but I believe Greg was the youngest of his three older siblings, so the closest in age to him. I'm sure this was a big loss. "Please Tell My Brother" seems particularly resonant now. So sorry to hear this news.

Mr. Heartbreak
I saw a bunch of condolences posts on the Facebook page, but not sure who really reads that. I have seen Jeff's wife Sue post here, so I guess there is a chance someone from the family will read these. In that case, I hope that Jeff and the family will take some measure of solace from knowing that some of us in the extended "Wilco family" are keeping them in our thoughts and prayers. Peace to all. IRememberDBoon
“Please tell my brothers I love them still Over the mountains on their phone bill I should call more often But they know I never will Please tell my brothers I love them still. Please tell my sister I miss her too My nieces and nephews and their swimming pools When I think about her Her skies are blue Please tell my sister I miss her too Please tell my father I love him still Forget the railroad and all those bills Head for the cooler And drink your fill Please tell my father I love him still Listen dear mother, I miss you the most And as I travel from coast to coast I feel your love an’ I feel your ghost Listen dear mother, I miss you the most Listen dear mother, I miss you the most.”
ripthisjoint908
Very sad. I hope Jeff and the family take as much time as it needs.
ThrasherBear
Very sad, and far too young. Interesting that Jeff and Jay Farrar are each the youngest of 4 brothers. Given Greg's role in the Uncle Tupelo days (van mechanic, bouncer etc.) I wonder if Jay and Mike were at the funeral. Possibly the 1st time they were all in the same room in 20 years.
