Awesome show as always! I agree some random choices to request after standing in the freezing cold! Trying to get there in time tonight to get a request in. Really hoping to hear one true vine (our wedding song) or ballad of the opening band among about 20 others, it's really hard to narrow it down. Jeff's tribute to Susie was beyond touching, they are the best! Sending positive vibes to the whole family!

Also loved Jeff's spirit tonight, especially with the library guy..."you picked the wrong day to "mess" with me!"

That was the best "library" show I've ever been to. If it really was the library guy who provided the oomph in the zep song, it was too perfect. Jeff seemed to think it was and I want to agree.

I actually thought this was one of the better shows for Tweedy original rarity's. I'm always in love as the opener was damn near perfect. 3 of the 1st four from summerteeth. At least one song off the first 6 albums. Radio King, not for the Season, and ruling class seem to be the Jesus, shot in the arm, and IATTBYH of the Tweedy solo shows. Usually it's Airline or Cal Stars, not Airline and Cal Stars. I guess I'm saying a lot of sing a longs. I love sky blue sky and wish the next person in line after hearing that request would immediately request Far, Far Away. I would love to hear those two back to back. And closing with misunderstood is wonderful. Usually Jeff ends these shows at the foot of the stage with no mic, but if he wants to close with misunderstood, no problem here.

Jeff and Susie, as always you guys are wonderful and put smiles on our faces which we hope multiply by thousands right back at you and your kids.

Why so few songs?  Did 30 people not brave the weather to get their requests in?

He did handle a few requests (more than one IIRC) where he said he couldn't play what was being asked for. I'm betting there were 30 there in line at the time they were taken. Although I have to say that I really, really hope that they start moving these back towards April & Spring & not further away & deeper towards Winter.

Also, he's got some much time & so many to get in...I'm sure he got pretty close, but when things ended I was also thinking- great show, but was that 30?

I'm just grateful to have been able to make it at all this year. I had to travel yesterday & miss getting in a request, but, if all goes well, hopefully today we'll get one in! I'm betting I'll do Solid Sound next year (and someday want to come to Chicago for one of those Wilco week long residency holiday run of shows type of thing), & am betting I won't get to one of these again until 2016...hopefully sometime after they start the tours of Wrigley Field in April- though ideally, I'd love to be here & see the shows & be able to catch, preferably a Cubs, or even White Sox, game in the Spring!!

Just by way of adding something else to the comments about Night One, I meant to say that I especially dug the version of Misunderstood to close the show. It seemed a little slower to me and just different in tone somehow, a bit laconic and not as "in-your-face," if that makes any sense. Jeff almost deferred to the crowd to sing the verses, and the "nothings" sort of faded the song out gently. At least that's my memory of it. Would be interesting to hear that one again.

It wasn't. Sorry to disappoint! The Zeppelin dude was great, though. He was lazed back in his chair, eyes closed, belting it out. When Jeff asked if it was the "library dude," Zepp stood and exclaimed, "I am not the library dude, but I do love libraries!!" Interestingly, the actual library dude also stood to identify himself during that exchange, which seemed like a weird choice. In the end, both were missed due to crowd noise, a dark house, etc. Two thumbs up to Zepp, though.
