calvino
Excited for Friday's Chicago show --- it will be the start of the family's vacation; on Saturday we head for Colorado. I think the Friday show sold out very quickly and then they announced a Saturday show, which sold out quickly too. Haven't downloaded that Denver show - need to. u2roolz
I'm not kicking myself too hard. I've had luck grabbing single tickets in the past due to my resiliency. The day before is usually better than the day of in my experience. Thanks for that Denver link. That was going to be my other question. I hope that they release every song performed from this tour somehow. I'd also like to ask permission to retract my statement about Bloodflowers being lumped in with the last 2 records. Bloodflowers is excellent!

tinnitus photography
I'm kicking myself for not purchasing tickets to the Boston show. I wasn't sure what to expect. I asked when tickets when on sale "Are they really going to do 3 hour shows again?" I'm loving the setlists. They really treat their fans well. I've only seen them three times (00, 04, 08). I went back and listened to their whole catalog which had an extremely strong run right until it got to Kiss Me. You can easily take half of those songs and have an even better record. The following 3 were all solid and where I got into them in real time. Bloodflowers, The Cure, and 4:13 Dream have some decent songs, but most of them I have forgotten about. If anyone knows someone looking to get rid of a ticket to the Boston show on June 16th, please let me know. I've tried StubHub, TM and eBay. What really sucks is that they had tickets for $17.50. Agganis Arena doesn't have any balcony, so sitting in the back of the loge wouldn't be too bad. on the plus side, if you don't get a Cure ticket, you can go see Dungen at Sinclair (which for me is the arguably better show, albeit that The Cure last played Boston in 2008). Sir Stewart
tinnitus, did you grow up pronouncing their name the (one syllable) "Kyour" instead of "Kyur"? A DJ here in Pittsburgh is from Boston and she mentioned how she and everybody always said it like "You heard the new Kyour?" and I was laughing, realizing I've always said it that way and no one outside of NE does. tinnitus photography
no, i grew up in western MA, outside of Spfld. We talk pretty normal out that way. Once you get 10 or so miles west of Worcester, you're pretty much free from local dialects (parents withstanding, of course). but now that you've mentioned it, i've gone over in my head how i'd pronounce and you might be on to something. chuckrh
Going to three in a row next week at MSG!!Nice! I'm pretty sure you're going to get 3 very different shows. I think there are only 2 songs they've played every night (Lovesong & Just Like Heaven). I am very jealous! Although I did get to see them in a 3000 seat venue.... worldrecordplayer
Seeing the show tomorrow. Listed as a 7:30 show. What time have they been coming on relative to show time? Any opener?
chuckrh
Seeing the show tomorrow. Listed as a 7:30 show. What time have they been coming on relative to show time? Any opener? They will be on probably by 8:30, I think. That start time is actually a little later than the shows I saw (7:00). The opening act is The Twilight Sad & I enjoyed their set in Portland. In Vegas, I could hear them from a bad tshirt line & they sounded good. Worth catching! Might remind you a little of the Smiths. @ the show they have been giving out a flyer to let you download for free a Twilight Sad song & Robert Smith covering the same song solo. Very good. There's an opportunity to volunteer to contribute to a children's charity near where Robert lives with it. Robert seems to do a lot in that area of charity, quietly. Enjoy the show! There's a pretty good chance you'll get a "Disintegration" centric set but you can't tell this tour. They did a bunch of "Bloodflowers" the last show & debuted the song "Pornography" finally on this tour. They still haven't done "The Kiss". I felt it was a tie between the Cure & Iggy Pop for show of the year for me this year. So far! I still have Jeff Beck & 2 nights of Wilco from the front row coming up. Fab music summer! u2roolz
I got lucky Thursday night. I'm glad that I checked the FB Event page for the Agganis Arena show. (I recommend this for anyone looking for tix in a real time environment). Amongst the tour stories were some people looking to get rid of extra tix. Luckily, I noticed this one woman who was in the next town over. I offered her a bit below face and met her in town. I made it in with 5 minutes to spare. Here's my review: it was awesome seeing them, especially after 8 years. However, I felt that the setlist wasn't what I hoped to hear. I'm envious of NYC 1's setlist. That show had the songs that I wanted to hear. Boston was surprisingly heavy on Kiss Me & Head On The Door (5 each). I think the only old songs that I never heard live before that night were Kyoto Song, The Snakepit and The Perfect Girl. I would have preferred anything 79-84 & some of the deeper cuts on Disintegration & Wish. I definitely would have tried my best to see all 3 NYC shows, if I lived in NYC. I wish I could've done 3 nights in NYC, too. I can't fly that far though because of some health issues sadly. 2 hours to Vegas is about the max for me & that's like being in a carwreck. It is pretty cool about the random nature of the setlists. Not many bands care enough to do that. I saw 2 radically different shows in the span of 10 days. Fortunately, I got the Disintegration set in Vegas. All n' all though Portland was better. 2 songs from Pornography! Again, glad it worked out for you.
calvino
Saw the 1st Chicago show - good show. When I saw them at Lolla with Reeves, I thought he over played a bit - on Friday, I though he did not play enough or was too low in the mix. I was on Roger's side - so perhaps it was a mix issue. Roger sounded great in the mix - I always enjoy his contributions.Great mix of tunes.

u2roolz
I can't believe that they did Bananafishbones last night. I wasn't there, but I was watching Periscope. I'll keep my eyes out for any more torrents from this tour. Another option would be to convert the YouTube vids to MP3.

Incredibly nice people from all over the world. Lots of vids from the tour. I've made friends in Europe from the site, not to mention other areas of the US. & the hardcore people on it maintain a sense of humour & equilibrium about the whole thing. http://thecurecommunity.freeforums.net/
