Mr. Heartbreak
Wow, this new Dave's Pick sounds like it's going to be an unbelievable, wonderful, incredible show with lots of wonderful, incredible, unbelievable music.
jw harding
I like Dave but he is polarizing to some, a bit too much of a mild mannered Canadian I suppose. Dick Latvala's gonzo fueled shoes were hard to follow, his exuberance made him a better salesman, which is part of the job. Anyway, Dave's a big Wilco fan, so wondering if he lurks on this board. He's got some nice hats for sale in the gd store.

I’m sure he’s a nice guy, but his combination of ADHD and hyperbole really grate on me. Does anyone know if he’s on the spectrum?
calvino
Waiting on the latest Dave's Pick - should be here by this Sat. Dave is an easy mark, for sure.

Don't want to derail this topic, but seems like a pretty ignorant thing to say about the Autism spectrum, as well as ADHD. I'm a clinical psychologist. The answer to both is no. Easy way to dismiss anyone we view as odd. And everyone is ignorant to certain things, myself included. So no offense intended on my part either.
Oil Can Boyd
I had a dream last night that I was at the great 2/11/70 show from the Fillmore East where Gregg and Duane Allman and Peter Green (and others) sat in. I wasn't part of the band - though at one point I may have been Duane Allman playing slide guitar. It was lots of fun.
calvino
I think seeing Mick Fleetwood in my dream may have woke me up in fear ---- thinking that a giant was going to off everyone on the stage.... I re-listened to this show on 2/11/
Analogman
That would have been something to see.

Not a fan of rock biopics, but Scorcese did some interesting things with the recent fictionalized Rolling Thunder revue doc. Not sure this is a movie that needs to be made or will be able to capture the depth and breadth of man or the band, but hope its worth a watch.
jw harding
Been listening to the shows Nels did with Phil in 2014. Some good stuff, particularly the Viola Lee gets into a unique and funky groove I've never heard it go to before. Some video too: https://www.jambase.com/article/nels-cline-phil-lesh-friends-2014
calvino
Just a shout out for Weir --- the Chicago show was something special. Horns sounded wonderful - great band - great production.
Oil Can Boyd
Enjoying the new season of the Deadcast podcast - all about Europe 72. They had a segment on the Dark Star from 4/8/72. There is a four minute jam at the end leading into Sugar Magnolia which is incredible.
Analogman
I like the interviews. It was quite something to listen to someone read the letters Pigpen wrote to his family.
calvino
I have listen to many, definitely nicely done. The Workingman's Dead and American Beauty song breakdowns have been great. The St. Louis set, too. Need to listen to the Pigpen and Dark Star one. Got tickets for the summer Wrigley shows, today. The rumors going around have been fun.

I never want each episode to end. Really a top notch production, going deep into the source material. This is a particularly great time to be into the Dead. The 50th anniversary of the Europe '72 shows- doesn't get better than this, day after day. Listened to the 4-8-72 show while watching the Masters. That Dark Star>Sugar Mag>Caution is off the hook. Analogman
I never got any of those 72 releases the last time around. I see people are selling them for hundreds of dollars. I may get the Lyceum Theater show. The cd version that is.
