Speaking of docs. - yesterday I watched Orange Sunshine: the story of the Brotherhood of Eternal Love on Amazon Prime -- nice flick. Some Dead references, throughout.

Man they made alot of LSD.

There was a big chunk of the Denver lab that is missing from the doc (they moved the lab out here when the heat was on out on the coast). I met a kid (young 30s? at a local GD bar a couple weeks back who's dad worked in the lab at the house. He had some interesting things to...share.

Makes sense - one of the main organizers was living in Lyons, CO when the Fed's finally caught up with him.

I just saw a few secs of a clip someone did with Bob singing Cassidy in Barlow's wake. And what seems like a lot of people filming with their phones . Depressing.

Just watched that, too. Looks to be in Barlow's home.

Apparently it was put up on the Ratdog Tour page....

I did not watch the Barlow wake, but did accidentally stumble across a picture of the scene online. Sad. I'd imagine those that did watch will be reminded of it every time they hear Cassidy, so good luck with that.

For some reason, that picture freaked me out a bit.

I managed not to see or watch any of the Barlow wake stuff - which is a good thing.

Yeah. However people want to grieve is ok by me, but I really didn't want to watch that.

Open caskets, kissing the dead goodbye...I don't do that. It just strikes me as sort of weird. But if one feels the need to see/touch the deceased then by all means do what you have to do.

I happened to land on Antiques Road Show the other night and some guy had a New Orleans Pop Festival poster on there.  I guess it is sort of a forgotten festival. It was a couple of weeks after Woodstock.

I'd forgotten about this: In '86 the GD did version of "That's Alright, Mama" with an intro of "Since My Baby Left Me," (same covered artist, Arthur Crudup). Not quite a JGB version, but cool none the less:

Anyone have the actual cds or flacs for Dave's Picks Vol. 6 (02 February 1970)? I'm looking to pull the .wav files.

Phil and Bob did Operator. I wonder how long it's been since that song was played.

I don't know if Phil & Friends have ever done it but it was played just 4-5 times with Pig, all in Fall '70.

I watched the one from the other night, and it wasn't too shabby.

They also did Mountains of The Moon. I have been into Easy Wind from that TV show Calibration as of late.

P&F have done it before. I think the one from Friday night was really nice.

I never get tired of it! I think its one of the finest GD live performances of all time and certainly one of the best Bob Weir guitar performances, its almost like he is a second lead guitarist.  Pig is SMOKIN'!!!

Too bad about the announcer talking over the music, though.  I sure would like to edit that out if it were possible.

I've always loved the groove in that song.
