RIP, you minx.

Good quote from Salon today... In a blurb about Obama's press conference this morning, Alex Koppelman mentioned that Obama was basically exonerated in remarks made by Blagojevich. "This is almost certainly the most thankful anyone's ever been to have been called a 'motherfucker.'"

I guess Richard Shelby doesn't really care if he's remembered as the Man Who Killed The Auto Industry. I have to say, the coverage of this issue on the local news here in southeast Michigan has been absolutely disgusting. They have completely abandoned even the slightest pretense of objective journalism, and are actively cheerleading for the bailout. You won't hear a single word during their broadcasts that runs contrary to the pro-bailout agenda, unless they're showing clips of someone like Shelby and shaking their heads and acting like he's Osama bin Laden or something. I watch the NBC a

Not a masterpiece, but far better than the 2

After watching Detroit politics implode under multiple mayoral corruption scandals*, it's refreshing to see it happen somewhere else ... and at the state level. * - I think they've only scratched the surface of all the twisted shit Kwame Kilpatrick was mixed up in.

"A Shot In The Arm," definitely. Let everyone wonder.

I'll freely admit that a large part of the reason that I don't think this is a smart move is because I can't fucking stand Leno, but production cost savings aside, I don't really see how this works for NBC. The people who watch 10 PM shows aren't necessarily the same people who watch 11:30 PM shows. The competition at 10 is vastly different -- not only do you have CBS and ABC's flagship shows (OK, I confess that I don't really know what any of those are), but you have a lot more competition from original programming on cable networks. At 11:30, Jay basically competes against Letterman and o

This is insanity. I keep waiting for someone to announce that it was all a joke. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Jay Leno Takes His Act to Prime - Time TV By REUTERS Filed at 1:32 p.m. ET LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Comedian Jay Leno will host a new prime-time talk show five nights a week in 2009 on struggling network NBC after his planned retirement from his popular late-night program "The Tonight Show," NBC said on Tuesday. The new one-hour show will air at 10 p.m., making it the first-ever program of its type to air five nights a week on prime-time U.S. television and marking

From Salon.com: President Blagojevich? It's worth reading the entire complaint against (soon-to-be-former) Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich. Buried on page 74 of the document is a truly priceless piece of information (emphasis added): In addition, in the course of the conversations over the last month, ROD BLAGOJEVICH has spent significant time weighing the option of appointing himself to the open Senate seat, and has expressed a variety of reasons for doing so, including frustration at being "stuck" as governor, a belief that he will be able to obtain greater resources if he is indicted as

Looks like there are only 61 coaches in the poll (judging by the number of first-place votes), and all 61 are represented on that chart. Not sure why/how those 61 are chosen.

Gotta love this.

Fair enough.

When the Tribune put Wrigley Field up for sale, Blago tried to put conditions on financial assistance to the Tribune from the Illinois Finance Authority. Basically, he wanted some members of the Tribune's editorial board fired because they wrote nasty things about him.

You weren't, but this dude was: I mean, seriously, why would someone post this? It's not helpful, and it's just one more example of a Mac user being smug and obnoxious.

Why would anyone pay money for a hairpiece that looks that bad? That's why I figure it has to be real.

Is there anything in the criminal complaint about his hair?

I'm not sure this is worth all caps.

It's not really that hard. Acquire an effective anti-virus application and keep it updated, then don't do anything too stupid on the internet. I don't "admit" anything. I just find it ridiculous that Mac owners continue to tease PC owners about stuff like viruses when their machines are also susceptible -- and when the chief reason they've been spared so far is because of the Mac's lack of market share, which is hardly a reason to feel superior. Go ahead, Mac users, keep banging pots and pans in front of the sleeping dragon. Did you see Rabid Fox's link? Even Steve says it's time to worr

Probably "Gimme Shelter."

Thain was paid $83.1 million in 2007. It's not like he needs more money.

Fans can get pissed all they want, but the BCS just locked itself in until 2014. There won't be a playoff anytime soon -- there's too much money involved in keeping it the way it is.

We just finished season 2 via Netflix. I really love this show. Took me quite a while to warm up to Deb, but now I like her. She delivered what may be my favorite line of the whole series so far, in one of the last episodes of the second season. Can't wait to get started on season 3, once it's out on DVD.

If I were the betting sort, my money would be on blowouts in both of those games.
