  1. I love Firefox 3, though it'll take me some time to get used to this "awesome bar" thing. I don't like it right now, but I'm willing to work with it for a while and try to see why people think it's so great. Part of my issue with it is the weird(?) way I used the address bar previously. I liked that it kept track of URLs I'd typed into that bar in roughly chronological order, so I could stash certain sites almost like bookmarks without actually bookmarking them. That same list came up every time, and I'd zoom down it with the mouse pointer to get to certain sites that I look in on occasional
  2. In case you hadn't noticed, this is thread is a tribute to the late George Carlin. If you want to talk about your favorite comedians, start your own thread.
  3. Spain had the better of it in the first half, I'd say. They were pretty atrocious at finishing, though -- with the chances they had, they could easily be up three goals or more by now. The goal they did get was something of a fluke. We'll see if the Germans can amp up their offensive pressure and get the equalizer ... but honestly, though I have often sided with Deutschland in the past, I'm pulling for Spain in this one.
  4. Ballack questionable for Euro final
  5. There was a thread about it earlier. That's cool about his book, though.
  6. A longtime favorite of mine: "Angeliou" by Van Morrison
  7. You're probably right ... but if there's one thing I have going for me physically, it's hand-eye coordination. I'm also a switch-hitter (NAPE).
  8. I have no idea why, but I love it when stupid crap like this happens. link (shows overlay that's pretty hard to refute) From thedenverchannel.com: Exclusive: Wyoming Mountain Depicted On Colorado Stamp? 7NEWS Viewer Recognizes Distinctive Outline As Mount Helen FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- Colorado's new flag stamp that went on sale two weeks ago as part of a new national stamp series may have a major problem: the mountain is in Wyoming. The U.S. Postal Service stamp shows the Colorado flag, with a snowy mountain and evergreen trees. But, a sharp-eyed 7NEWS viewer from Fort Collins tho
  9. Wow. I could probably hit .122 in Rookie ball. I could probably strike out fewer times, too. I have never played organized baseball in my life.
  10. I haven't been keeping track ... did Ron Paul suspend his campaign, or is he now running as something other than a Republican? Not that I'd vote for him ... just wondering.
  11. Really? If McCain wins, you think the GOP would try to sabotage him in 2012? Or do you think McCain would decline to seek re-election?
  12. Yeah, I probably would have ponied up a few bucks for that myself. I took two pictures in the Haight-Ashbury area earlier this month: one of the street signs at that corner, and one of Hendrix's place.
  13. How in the world do you manage that?
  14. In general I would agree, but this does seem to deprive the GOP of a major talking point, and could make it difficult to energize a portion of their base.
  15. Salon.com makes an interesting point that this SCOTUS decision basically robs the GOP of one of their standard election-year scare tactics: claiming that the Democratic nominee wants to take everyone's guns away. The headline for their piece: Supreme Court gun ruling could backfire
  16. He didn't say he'd seen the band in the late '80s ... just Dave. That's how I read it, anyway.
  17. That's one way of looking at it. It's that semantic ambiguity that's been driving people nuts all this time. I happen to interpret it the other way.
  18. "Thirteen" "1983 ... (A Merman I Should Turn To Be)" "When I'm Sixty-Four"
  19. True. I actually liked a couple of tracks on the new one.
  20. Are we really still talking about this? I love how you've made Wilco rescheduling a show all about you.
  21. Nope. Just the first time I heard the new album.
