Has anyone ordered tour posters? How did you find frames?
cryptique replied to erik527's topic in Just A Fan
I would agree with that, personally ... which is why, more recently, I've paid the money, especially for posters that I plan to display prominently (e.g., the full set of residency posters, which adorn my dining room). But I was poor once, and didn't have the resources to drop $100-200 on a framing job. A friend of mine was similarly poor and also an artist, so I learned a few tricks from him. (He was adept at cutting mattes and dry mounting, which helps.) -

I paid big $$ to have mine professionally framed. However, if you go to a frame store (or a craft store that has framing materials), you should be able to find frame kits that you can mix and match to get the size you want. For example, you could (theoretically) buy a set of 26" segments and a set of 17" segments. The problem then is getting glass cut -- but if you don't care about having special glass, try your local hardware store (hopefully you have a good local one that's run by people who know what they're doing). I have had glass cut for frames very cheaply at the hardware store. It ma -

Everyone stayed home last night to watch Obama's speech. Then Wipeout was on. -
I highly doubt it.

It's also too bad the Tigers couldn't hold a three-run lead. If the Sox are gonna do this, they need a bit of help. -
Huh. If you were around in 1984, it was difficult to escape it then.

The sad thing is, I'm not sure they can beat UConn... edit: Oh, and I'm not sure what route you usually take, but don't get off at exit 172 (Jackson Road) and expect to get to the stadium very easily. Probably better to get off at Ann Arbor-Saline Road (exit 175) or even State (177). Stadium Boulevard is all torn up, and currently has only one lane of traffic, westbound only, starting in front of Pioneer High School, through Pauline. It's going to be a traffic nightmare every football Saturday until they finish the project (which will be November, I believe). We'll probably blow town

A friend of mine had Intellivision, and initially I liked it way better than the Atari 2600. Those controllers were hell on my thumbs, however.

I know they're still there. Doesn't mean I have to listen to them.

And without the Ono.

Strasburg -- the best young pitcher since Mark Prior. Oops.

Wow. Nor will I. My respect for Pujols just took a nosedive.

If the White Sox want to stay in the race, they cannot let games get away from them like they did last night (first game of the doubleheader). Blew a 5-1 lead, then had the potential winning run tagged out at home plate on a stupid baserunning mistake. Then they brought in Jenks.

It's mono because it was all recorded live into a single microphone. Pretty good record overall.

I somehow missed this thread when it was originally posted. Glad everything worked out OK. Hope your insurance picked up the tab. And I hope you're still spoiling those cats.

It's better live. And I like "Leave You Like You Found Me."

I love it, but I'm a Beatles completist, so I was predisposed to loving it. I also love that it includes the original 1965 stereo versions of Help! and Rubber Soul.

Neko Case's version of "Buckets of Rain"

Yeah, I have no need for these two collections personally (I bought both box sets), but lots of people will be very pleased to see them. They'll sell millions of each. I might buy them anyway, because I'm crazy like that.

Thanks everyone! Many VCers posted stuff on Facebook, so though this thread may seem a bit sparse, I was definitely feelin' the love yesterday.
