You'll definitely need 'em. I feel sorry for anyone at last night's show who didn't have any. I couldn't stop listening to Beyond today.

Awesome. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 1957 Plymouth to Emerge from Tulsa Time Capsule If you happen find yourself in Tulsa, Oklahoma on June 15, bring a shovel. Buried beneath the dirt of the Tulsa County Courthouse lawn, about 100 feet north of the intersection of Sixth Street and Denver Avenue, a 1957 Plymouth Belvedere Sport Coupe has been hidden underground for half a century. Swaddled in rust-resistant preservatives and gently placed inside a giant concrete sarcophagus, the tailfinned Plymouth was interred on June 15, 1957 as the centerpiece of a time capsule created for the 21s

I forgot about that one ... nice. -
Sounds like a good book, and I'll probably read it someday. However, you've not managed to establish any real connection between that book and the Wilco/VW situation. Merely referencing the book doesn't suffice. Why is it relevant? OK, so Wilco is involved with VW, VW is a brand, and they're trying to establish a brand identity. Is that inherently evil? It definitely has its darker side, but for most companies, it's merely an attempt to establish a competitive presence in the marketplace -- there's no underlying ulterior motive except to improve their sales figures. I just got back from night two of Dinosaur Jr.'s residency at the Blind Pig here in Ann Arbor. Jeezus, those guys shredded the place. What a show. The first song was a bit shaky, but after that they slipped into a groove and just cranked out the songs. J Mascis is an amazing guitarist to watch. I didn't keep track of a setlist, but they played most of the new album, which was great, because I love that thing. Has anyone else seen a show on this tour? How was it? And if you haven't, but they're coming your way -- go. Side note: their opener was godawful. Some band called Awesome Color

Wow. Those are hard -- many would be easier if the pictures were larger. I got 12 -- at least three of which were lucky guesses. The ones I got right were 3, 4, 5, 11, 14, 17, 21, 22, 27, 37, 39, and 43. I'm really embarrassed to have missed 33 and 44, but those shots aren't that easy to match up to the films they came from.

Indeed. My shitty band used to cover that song, whenever we had gigs that required a bit more than the approximately 35 minutes of original stuff we had.

You're high right now, aren't you?

That observation gets made quite a bit about that song. From the allmusic guide review: "Musically, Weller drew upon Revolver-era Beatles as a primary source (the bassline on 'Start,' which comes directly from 'Taxman,' being the most obvious occurrence)" Sound Affects is a great album, BTW.

Huh. I'm pretty adept at hallucinating these things. I could swear he was feeding info to the Feds at one point. Then again, I could swear I saw my car keys on that shelf in the dining room, but that's not where I found them. My brain is a weird, wild place.
