Do a Google image search on "Erin Esurance." Some bizarre results.

The Jayhawks (including Louris, Olson, and related)

I didn't say they piss me off. They're just bad. Which ones? Pretty much all of them. There are a few rare exceptions. -

For me, the issue with Sound of Lies is the lyrics. They're horrible. ...which is too bad, because I think that record sounds fantastic. -

Robert, When reading a topic (any topic), click the Options button that appears above the first post on the right side. Then, under Display Modes, click "Switch to: Standard." You probably inadvertently clicked "Switch to: Outline" at some point and you've been stuck with it ever since. Hope that helps.

That's a must-read for Neko fans. Thanks.

Dents and Shells is fantastic.

Misleading. Clinton signed it, but it was a Republican bill passed in a Republican-dominated Congress (both houses). The GOP brought it to the floor in an election year, and the spineless Democrats went along with it because they feared that their opponents would make it a huge issue in the fall '96 campaign. Clinton probably signed it for similar reasons (in September '96, a little over a month before the election). There was exactly one Republican vote against the measure, and that came from the first openly gay Republican representative (who was only open because he had been outed on

I got sick of seeing my own juvenile thread title, so I cleaned it up. (Happy birthday, this time with proper spelling/grammar.)

Which part was wrong?

No. It's not conservative radio, but it's also not liberal radio. It's balanced, unlike virtually all other TV/radio news.

I wouldn't cry any tears if it were true. I loved Pax as a player, but as an executive his teams have been chronic underachievers. He's lined up some terrific talent from time to time, but there have also been some real stinker trades/signings. Ben Wallace comes to mind. (To be fair, I was enthusiastic about that one at the time.) And really, Doug Collins, again? There has to be some newer blood out there who can put the team on a winning track. I'd prefer they didn't hire a retread -- even their own -- though I also don't want them to repeat the Del Negro mistake.

Because the people she's run against have been bigger jokes (see: Spencer Abraham, Mike Bouchard). I've voted for her twice, while holding my nose. I'm hoping she opts for retirement next time around, or that someone from her own party challenges her and wins the nomination. She's useless.

Can someone please punch Michael Buble in the face for me? Thanks.

Yup. And under Bush, it actually began to skew rightward on occasion (though on the whole I think it remained pretty balanced). Wasn't it Colbert who said "truth has a liberal bias"?

Hope it's one of your best birthdays ever!

Stabenow is possibly the least effective member of the Senate, and she won't have any success with this idea. Sure, there are a few people who'd love to see it make a comeback, but it ain't gonna happen. I'd be more interested in seeing a better defined line between satire and slander. Limbaugh and his ilk like to hide behind "satire" claims, but Limbaugh wouldn't know satire if it gave him a black eye. He does drift over the line into slander and even incitement on occasion, but I don't think the line is well enough defined for anyone to win a court case against him. I don't pretend to

I'd like to reiterate this. Certain people on the right wing have been screaming bloody murder about this being resurrected under Obama, but it's not going to happen. Everyone just chill.

Just didn't feel like reading the NFL thread, huh?

I just discovered last night that even though I don't have this channel as part of my cable package, if I dig deep enough into the On Demand menus, the shows are available there ... so I hope to do some catching up soon. I neglected to notice whether they're free on On Demand, but I would guess they are.

How can someone this stupid serve in Congress? Wait. Don't answer that.
