  1. That would be "Crayon Angels", by Judee Sill. Here's a vid: Sounds like a great show!
  2. Seeing this movie is not a priority. If I happen to catch it on cable some months from now, I may watch. Its kind of like 'Religulous'. I know what I'm in for, so what's the point? Anything that Stone will say about GWB in the movie, I already know.
  3. Just listened to that myself. I've had it for 2 weeks and I'm not tired of it yet. Its an incredible album.
  4. Another latecomer, but may trump all the others: Probably my favorite of the year at the moment. Maybe next week Ill say something different.
  5. Hey, that may not seem like a big deal, but they could have gotten some hot-shot bass player that wasn't a friend and it could have ruined the band. Personal chemistry trumps virtuosity any day of the week.
  6. Just purchased/listened to: Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant! Daniel Rossen is a brilliant songwriter. Anyone who thinks everything's been done in pop/rock music needs to hear this. NP:
  7. Thank you. Basically the point I've been trying to make: a good band is made up of good parts. A band with one weak part is not a good band. Then why wasn't he? He obviously brought something tangible to the band or else he wouldn't be in the band. I could say the same thing about Daltrey/Talbot/Hudson/etc. If they were truly weak links the bands themselves would be unlistenable. Thank you, too. Shit makes no sense.
  8. I guess the powers that be have achieved their goal, as we are now celebrating gas that costs $3 a gallon. Its a pretty sickening thought.
  9. I wonder how much John McCain paid to make that video.
  10. Yay, another religion discussion. Excuse me a sec:
  11. I've had this conversation with non-music playing folk like my very good friend, and he will constantly say things like this guy sucked or this band would be as good with a different bass player/drummer etc. The fact is, all the parts together make a good band, with a different lineup the music would sound different, and possibly not as interesting to your ears. For example, Bill Wyman. Just because he doesn't whale like John Entwistle, doesn't mean he's a bad bass player. Some of the best bass players I can think of barely make themselves known, and that is also the sign of a great musici
  12. Eagerly anticipating: Comes out tomorrow!
  13. If a band is great, then no members "suck." A band cannot have a weak link or the band itself will suck.
  14. Thanks but no thanks. That just exemplifies that fact that the machine is trying to silence these people, like "We're going to have our one-on-one debate on national television with corporate sponsors, the kids will be over there in the sandbox, we try to ignore them anyway." Its an insult to all of us that we are forced to listen to the same crap from the two (or should I say one) major parties and the other cadidates who are equally as qualified get pushed to the side.
  15. Jeez, that would be unreal: To give the American people some choices. The machine would never allow it. Allowing people with little/no affiliation to corporate interests to be in a position of power is death for the system as we know it, which would be a good thing, but will never happen. Shame.
  16. Actually, Fey talks pretty much like Palin, with small dose of embellishment. Have you noticed how much of Fey's dialogue is lifted word-for-word from Palin? Its funny because its so close to the real thing, and the real thing is funny.
  17. I have a hard enough time concentrating, there's no damn way I could listen to music and read at the same time. Its one or the other.
  18. Listening to/watching Beck w/ The Flaming Lips on Morning Becomes Eclectic circa 2002.
  19. Listening to/watching The Cave Singers on Morning Becomes Eclectic 12/5/07
  20. Hows about sharing the wealth?
