bullony, free implies that you don't have to spend money on "it", the thing you are receiving, the mp3s. you still have to put effort into obtaining it. if Wilco were playing a free show in a town near you, would it be less free because you have to find transportation to it? would Wilco have to shell out gas money to give you the "free" experience? the mp3s do not cost money, they are free to those who purchased the dvd, they are unavailable to those who have not. if you do not own the dvd but want the mp3s, you're going to have to pay for gas or else walk (i dunno what that would be, wait a m

Radiohead recorded it, but Jim O'Rourke ruined it, so Wilco took it.

a friend of mine said there was a station around him that played all of AGIB one day. Unfortunately, they only played a minute of the drone and went to Late Greats. But that's still awesome.

I've never read anything by Greg Kot about Wilco, but maybe you're refering to actual kids. While I think that Summerteeth would have sounded better with a more natural instrumentation like Being There, maybe throwing in the kitchen sink better prepared them for YHF. You, being (none), are not allowed to see the index. Go away. Error 403 ?

i'd probably listen to it more if it were reworked back in the day. right now my order of frequent listening goes: AGIB BT YHF Mermaid Stuff ST AM a different approach to the recording would help, also cutting off the bonus tracks and one or two of the weaker songs. i think it would probably stay in the same spot in my mind critically, but listened to much more.

how that didn't throw them to the top of the charts will forever remain a mystery.

KT can wait, but you must buy the Loose Fur records.

10 years. Shouldn't we be calling it "Been There"?

true, but it kind of sucks for that guy that his suckiness be captured and immortalized and give reason for Tweedy fans to despise him for as long as there are copies of Sunken Treasure, or for as long as there are Tweedy fans. "Hey, you know that jerk that yells at Jeff 'Blackeye sucks!', that was me!" the "I'm in love!" guy, on the other hand...
