  1. YHF and Summer Teeth are tied. Perhaps the two best American rock records of the past 20 years. I voted for Summer Teeth, just to give it some extra love. It being in 4th disturbs me.
  2. The Microphones- The Glow, Part 2 The album is like a force of nature...I don't even know how to describe it. It's one of the best breakup albums I've heard; not in the coffee shop sense of the word "breakup" album, but in the sense of the emotional holocaust you go through, the loneliness... at the same time, I can put it on and just be swept up in it's majesty. It's so amazing, I can't even describe it. Lots of noisey elements, but used in contrast with stark acoustic guitar, silence, and pulsing low piano. It's calming, cathartic, theraputic...and just down right good. Definitely a top
  3. I hate to be the late guy, but I'm terrible at keeping up with new releases. Finally got around to this record, and it's probably in my top 3 of this year.
  4. Dirty old river, must you keep rolling Flowing into the night People so busy, makes me feel dizzy Taxi light shines so bright But I dont need no friends As long as I gaze on waterloo sunset I am in paradise Every day I look at the world from my window But chilly, chilly is the evening time Waterloo sunsets fine Terry meets julie, waterloo station Every friday night But I am so lazy, dont want to wander I stay at home at night But I dont feel afraid As long as I gaze on waterloo sunset I am in paradise Every day I look at the world from my window But chilly, chilly is the evening time Wat
  5. that only answers three out of six...
  6. Does anyone have the track breakdown for the vinyl wilco releases (as in what songs end side a, begin side B etc)? I'm just curious, because I know Jeff is a vinyl fan, so I'd be interested to see where he put the cut off for each side of vinyl for Wilco's records.
  7. SBS is fun... and I'm from FL. But I don't think anything warrants a note of congradulations. You aren't Elvis Presley sending the Beatles a message on the Ed Sullivan show.
  8. Hey Floyd, what does Jeff's ass taste like? Good?
  9. Things Jack White needs to stop doing: Whining about shit like this. Punching people. claiming the Stripes is an art project (I'm sorry...no one should go around calling their band an art project.) Things Jack needs to do: Come to my house with a 12 pack of beer and jam with me.
  10. Van Morrison...Van Morrison...and more Van Morrison.
  11. It means you've got naked with a member of the opposite sex ::Shakes bible:: Btw...I waited on it...and yup...still attracted to her.
  12. and custard. I'm flustered. ...anything else?
  13. Agreed... it's one of those hype things that will go away eventually. The material doesn't warrant the hype. There's less return on the hype than like any other artist this generation, save maybe the Libertines or something like that. Only White Blood Cells has ever come close to living upto the medias promises for me. And where's these great melodies Jack supposedly writes? I can think of like at least 20 melodicists from the past ten years who far exceed him.
  14. You know, I was hoping they'd finally live upto their hype. Then I heard the single, and realized it wasn't happening
  15. if you want to ignore Magical Mystery Tour, which was a compilation, and Yellow Submarine which was a soundtrack. Rubber Soul Revolver Sgt. Pepper White Album Abbey Road nothing touches that for me.
  16. Jeff Buckley was one of my favorite artists in high school. It's a shame he never formally followed up Grace. My Sweetheart the Drunk is kind of a mixed bag.
  17. yeah... Take care of yourself and get plenty of rest.
  18. Warsaw is still the coolest city name ever. It sounds like a comic book.
  19. "Comment" or "I Shall Be Released" if you count covers.
  20. I would love to see the next record be like Rust Never Sleeps. All new tracks, recorded live. A double album, with some of the material coming from band performances, and some from solo.
  21. Rank the albums Chronologically, then we'll talk.
  22. "Impossible Germany" gets stuck in my head sometimes. I love the sort of Steely Dan meets Television feel to it.
