  2. I can't stop listening to this song. I love it. It is sneaking up on She's a Jar as my all-time favorite Wilco song.
  3. That's pretty cool. An outside summer show that's not at Whatever that Place is Called Now in Tinely Park would be awesome. The Cure and Flaming Lips shows this summer, too...
  4. Right now... Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy Philosophy's Frango Mint Shampoo/Body Wash Track 10 on The Shin's Wincing the Night Away (Sailor Girl) St. Andre Triple Cream Brie
  5. The HOB Chicago pre-sale is already sold out and it doesn't look like WXRT is doing a pre-sale. I guess my Saturday morning has been planned. Good luck to everyone getting tickets!
  6. I JUST received my SBS pre-order! On the positive side, it's about a week ahead of the Live in the Pacific Northwest pre-order. I'm pretty sure this this the last time I pre-order with Music Today.
  7. That's really cute. The dressing up as a tree thing reminds me of my favorite Laverne and Shirley episode where Lenny and Squiggy dress up like trees to act as lookouts while the girls break into their boss's office to get back a letter. Double smile on that one!
  8. I think it would be exciting. My kids will be 13 and 9-I loved the Olympics when I was that age. My husband sees it as an opportunity to rent out the house for a month and go on an extended vacation!

  10. That must be it! We stood below the balcony and we've never done that. We are usually up front or in the balcony. Good to know, so we never stand there for Jeff/Wilco.
  11. We went to Tuesday night's show at the Vic. We see Jay solo/Son Volt just about everytime he comes through and this was probably my least favorite time seeing him. (I don't want to say it was the worst, because it was not a bad show). The sound was really bad, especially on his vocals and I was not that impressed with the band. It just seemed like no one was allowed to have any fun. Now, I know that Jay isn't a have fun on stage kind of guy, but when he toured with Canyon a few years back, the band was really tight and really rocking and were genuinely enjoying themselves. I don't know a
  12. One of my favorite short stories is Vonnegut's "Long Walk to Forever." It's about a guy who goes AWOL to tell the girl next-door that he loves her on the day before her wedding. My husband read it to me on the night of our first date. Rest in peace.
  13. The first album I purchased with my own money: Duran Duran-Seven and the Ragged Tiger. First Concert-Rick Springfield. The early 80's were a great time to be a 'tween.
  14. The picture your hostas hurts my heart. I'm soooo sorry. My husband had a Chicago to Kansas City flight this morning at 9. He's still sitting on the plane.
  15. My husband hits snooze for an hour starting at 5am. My alarm clocks are a 4 year old and a 15 week old. Needless to say... .
  16. Thanks, guys. I look forward to the reports.
  17. Has anyone been to a show? We are going Tuesday night and I was looking for some feedback about how the tour is so far...Thanks!
  18. Happy Birthday, Scotty aka DCD! Hope all is well! Happy Birthday to you, too, KT!
  19. We JUST got this yesterday and listened to it twice. Usually, it takes me a few more listens to that to really like a new CD, but I really liked this one after the second listen. I like "Adrenaline and Heresy". I think it's much more listenable than Okemah. Our tickets for the April 10th Vic show just came UPS this morning. Looking forward to it...

  21. New news on the Crowded House front... Hi All a short message from Neil on the www.frenz.com/crowdedhouse/ NEWS area of the site regarding our new Crowded House drummer- Mr Matt Sherrod. As many of you know Matt has played in Beck's band. He does use a 7A wood drumstick, which is a hickory drumstick with a small round tip for defined cymbal work. He is 38 years old, his father an African American Civil Rights activist and his mother is a southern country music fan. Neil just said to me' he's just a lovely guy and an awesome drummer'. All sounds pretty good to me.... Wel

  23. We just got home from the show. it ran about two hours-I think they played a little bit longer last night, but it was a really good show-the best we've seen at the Auditorium. The Auditorium Theater has church services on Sunday mornings, so I think that might be why they had to end early. I don't know. I didn't write down the set list but here is what I remember in no particular order... I think I'm missing a few, too. Highlights for me were She's a Jar and Forget the Flowers. Jeff said that they didn't know when they'd be playing live together again and that usually they have something
  24. Saturday night...She's a Jar and Pick Up the Change. Pretty please!
