I think the last indoor show was at the Orpheum in 2004 (AC Newman opened). Crazy! -

Really fun show! First time I've seen an audience at the Orpheum on their feet from beginning to end. Snuck down the aisle during the encore and saw a lot of air guitar and 'Snoopy dancing' in the front rows. One security guy seemed pretty into it, as well. Nice to see Vancouver let loose and give them the love they deserve. -

Really getting excited for the Vancouver show this weekend. Hard to believe it's been nearly two (!) years since we've had the pleasure. The forecast looks promising, so maybe you'll finally get to see those beautiful snow capped mountains, bbop. Japadog, poutine, and Nanaimo bar custard await you! -
That's great. I remember getting shit from a guy at a show in Victoria, BC because I stood up during Broken Arrow (he deemed this song unstandworthy, I suppose). My American companions were confused when I apologized to him, not understanding that in Canada,"Sorry" = "Eat it!"

Steely Dan Bejar, not so much. To me, Kaputt is more Bryan Ferry.

Everything about this album is awesome - including the cover (http://lpwtf.tumblr....autifully-bored). I hadn't paid much attention to Destroyer since This Night, so Kaputt really blew my mind. "Whoa, how did we get from there to here?" I played it nonstop for months. One perk of living in Vancouver is (sometimes) understanding what Dan Bejar is singing about.

Certainly a disappointing week for Vancouver fans. Thomas has been outstanding, and Luongo... not so much. On the bright side, Vancouver has recaputered some of the spirit of 2010. It has been fun to see people wearing Canuck jerseys to work, flying flags and decorating public art and monuments for the occasion. The streets are deserted and the bars and fan zones are packed. My boss gave us permission to leave early when the Canucks play so we can get home before the puck drops. Honestly, it's hard to bitch. Paul has a great appreciation for the finer things in life: Wilco, good food, fine wine, Canadian accents, mischief, public art... (PS, this thread should be pinned.)
