I saw them in Vancouver just a few days before the Fillmore run. Great show. Pretty sure it wasn't recorded, unfortunately.

"You know, I used to think it was awful that life was so unfair. Then I thought, wouldn't it be much worse if life were fair and all the terrible things that happen to us come because we actually deserve them. So now I take great comfort in the general hostility and unfairness of the universe." J. Michael Straczynski That quote has always been a great comfort to me, so I thought I'd share it here.

Wow, so sad. I'm stunned.

Like a bird on the wire, like a drunk in a midnight choir I have tried in my way to be free.

Just started the first chapter.

Well done, folks! My grandfather was born in Iowa.

Gosh, I hope they include some dates further north. It's been a long time. Not that I'm keeping track or anything.

Review of Middle Cyclone by my 2 yr old daughter: "That's great music, mama!"

Neil's bullshit detector (aka, David Briggs) passed away in 1995. RIP I'm going to do what I always do when Neil puts out a crappy album - pretend it doesn't exist. I'm going to listen to Zuma now.

I wonder if the CRTC will recognize Wilco as CanCon now? I loved the duet! Was I hallucinating or did Feist contribute backing vocals on some of the other tracks, as well?

It was a real treat to hear the new album. I honestly can

I watch it nightly after the Daily Show and the Colbert Report. Love Rex Murphy and the "At Issue" panel. -

William Gibson was born in the US, but lives in Vancouver now. I've run into him around town a few times. He's really tall and slightly stooped over, so he's easy to spot in a crowd. The last time I saw him was at the Vancouver Folk Festival. -
Happy birthday!

Lots of good children's music on Smithsonian Folkways, as well. My 2 yr old daughter loves to sing along with Woody.

Same guy, but I haven't had the pleasure of seeing him for a few years so I don't know what the setlists are like. I really loved Zumpano, back in the day.
-
I'm excited about this. (Against my better judgment.)
-
I love them both. This is awesome.

I think this is going to be the teen pregnancy of threads.

Happy birthday, Drew! The future is unwritten.
