We're waist-deep in 2010 merch up here. It's as though it breeds on it's own.

They will definitely be included in my welcome pkg for you and Trish. For me, the best part of the Olympics will be playing host and tour guide for so many of my favourite people. Things I'm also excited about: Wilco My husband somehow managed to get tix to the men's and women's gold medal hockey games, plus a few other cool events. (I rarely admit this in public, since I would be strung up by most everyone I know.) Stephen Colbert!!!! Love. Him.

I've always wanted to travel to Quebec City in the winter. Jealous! This is a very fine Canadian tour! Now they just have to add a date in Newfoundland to save the baby seals, like Sir Paul.

Love, love, love Kelly Hogan! I've seen Neko several times over the last 10 yrs, and the shows with Kelly were the best, by far. -

2010 NW US/Trans Canada tour announcement coming soon

True. As far as I can remember, the White Stripes are the only band to visit every Province and Territory on a single tour. Still, you've got to give Wilco credit for crossing the country in February. Brrr. -

Sometimes it's nice to be wrong. I'm so glad to see "Mile 0" is finally getting some love. Now that's a real Trans Canada tour. -
I have no idea who anyone is anymore.

Not recommended for people who are sick with the flu, unless you enjoy indulging your paranoid fantasies as much as I do.

Greater Victoria is about the same size as Halifax, I think. And as you point out, it's only a short ferry trip from both Seattle and Vancouver. -

Victoria, a beautiful city with a major university, attracts artists like Leonard Cohen, etc. Neil Young played a benefit concert in Duncan, BC (also on the Island) in 2004. This reminded me of Hard Core Logo. -

That's awesome, Judy! Can't wait. If you're staying downtown, you can probably walk to David Lam Park. -

Time to revise those travel plans. I must admit, I did not see this one coming. Pack your rain pants and wellies! A Canadian tour in February is pretty hardcore. -

If they're going to do a real Trans-Canada tour, Victoria is "Mile 0." You never know. It would also be cool if Wilco could contribute to the Neil Young Project during the Vancouver 2010 Cultural Olympiad. It would be a good fit, I think. -
Wilco may not visit those of us on the wet coast much anymore, but we still have the music. Ashes of American Flags is coming to the big screen in October. http://www.viff.org/tixSYS/2009/filmguide/

Vancouver seems to have a 2-3 yr gap between shows. I accept it. I don't even check the tour dates anymore.

Neil Young - Ambleside Park, West Vancouver 09/12/09
Dreamin' replied to Dreamin''s topic in After The Show
I forgot to mention that Pegi Young and Ben Keith joined Neil 5 songs into his set. -
I overheard the following conversation, just before Neil's set: Guy smoking pot: "NEIL YOUNG, man!!! Cop: Yeah, I'm so stoked! Goin' Back Powderfinger Pocahontas Birds Sail Away King Long May You Run Light a Candle Human Hwy Hold Back The Tears Sarah McLaughlan was on after Neil (!) so I decided to call it a night. Don't know if he joined Sarah and Sheryl Crow on stage at the end (I'm guessing he did).

I saw him on that tour in a smallish amphitheater near Salem, OR. 17 yrs ago? Wow, I am old!

Greatest performance artist of our time. Crashing the Kurt Loder & Madonna interview was her best work.

I think it's cool when little girls carry their dolls in a sling and pretend to BF. No need for fake breasts, though.
-
Cool. I'm going to pick that up. A little off topic, but this is a great quote: I've got tix to see Neil play acoustic on the beach (at Ambleside Park, that is) in September. I'm even willing to put up with Sheryl Crow and Sarah McLachlan for the privilege. Now that's true love.

Thanks for the heads up. I don't want to buy a Blu-ray player, so it looks like the DVD set for me. I wanted to buy it from my local indie shop, but they quoted me a price of $400+ Cdn. Crazy. Amazon.ca it is.
