"breed a little liberal army in the wood" - Lou Reed I empathize with viatroy. Unfortunately, I do fear that we're headed toward a major collapse (maybe I should stop reading that Jared Diamond book) and it's hard to be optimistic about the future. Sometimes, I wonder if I will even recognize my own country in 15-20 years because we seem to be headed down a slippery slope which may make Canadian sovereignty moot. The only way I cope is by trying to live in the here and now as much as possible.

Remember, Canada just (very reluctantly) elected Stephen Harper and the (Regressive) Conservative Party. He's not stupid, but he sure seems evil. I don't know what's worse - Dubya or a Dubya wannabe.

I agree. In Vancouver, Zulu Records is still going strong (as street spirit observed), but the Virgin Megastore recently closed its doors.

Maybe the 'stache is Glenn's homage to Neil Peart.

BSS is a Canadian band, so Heinekren's CanCon theory may still be correct. (But one can always hope.)

It's the only walled North America city north of Mexico, so I guess they didn't let the Riff Raff in. Remember the French castle and the wooden rabbit scene from the Holy Grail movie? I think that's probably what happened.

BTW, thanks for your reviews. I'm always interested in the details that make a show unique. And for the record, I must say that Paul is one of the least jaded people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He's a kindred spirit with a long attention span and the ability to hear old songs with fresh ears. Brianne, I eagerly await more blog entries about your adventures. Hope the weather improves by the time you reach PEI (my favourite place in Canada east of the Rockies, aside from Lunenburg and Cape Breton Island). Enjoy a lobster supper and some good Maritime brew for me. Soooo jeal
