  1. I have an HD DVD player and one of the best features was that there was no problem with DRM and it is region free, meaning if you got a foreign film it would play just fine. Kind of seems like something a movie player should do, IMO, since I'm buying it. Crazy thing that DRM.
  2. That Champ looks like a sweet little amplifier. Let us know how it turns out.
  3. I think I remember hearing that it's a 2" nut width
  4. I'll add my thanks too. He's definitely in my top five; my most recent addition.
  5. Jesus...My sister is going to school in Vancouver, BC and my heart sunk. Keep safe for all those affected!!
  6. Here is a song I put together after reading the thread that is pinned. Maybe it will help make some peace for some people.
  7. I agree. Only with the YHF stuff though. I think the other albums come across better live.
  8. Just like the volume knob on your guitar, but with the foot.
  9. I just wanted to offer my greatest condolences. I don't know any of you in person, but I feel like I do. It's a terrible shame to have lost one of our own. I wrote and recorded little song tonight, which will hopefully help some fellow VCers through these trying times. Here is a sendspace link to the song: A.Miller - St. Genevieve
  10. 1 -- you could get something like a Fender Pro Jr. and build a sound isolation box for it. That's one option. 2 -- You could build an isolation box for the bassman, but it would be really damn big 3 -- If your amp has an adjustable bias, you can have your amp biased much hotter, so it will breakup at lower volumes -- note that if it is biased too hot, you'll burn out tubes and possibly the amp. 4 -- Use an attenuator (as you suggested). They're used in studios all the time. Just do some research. Like with biasing, you can burn your amp up.
  11. Oh how those words echo in my head
  12. Two of my best friends live in Ventura and in West Hollywood. The friend in WeHo and I do a lot of music stuff together, so ideally I'd be living close to there. There is that whole finding employment / having a job thing.... If you know of anyone that needs someone with a graphic design / journalism background...I'm your man Get your Creep chops shined up!!
  13. Here is that Swart Amp. Damn.
  14. I'm moving there in a couple months. I'll have to hit you up and check out some of these infamous open mics. Do you play an instrument?
  15. I dropped a guitar off to have some work done on it today and my local shop (now) has a bunch of rather boutique amps. These included: Matchless 65 Amps Bogner Divided by 13 I did not play any of them, but a guy was there playing a Bogner -- it sounded great. Anyone have any of these? The prices are totally outrageous and I wonder if they're worth it. For me, I question how different the amps are from, say Marshall or Fender. I guess you could make the same argument for guitars. hmm.....
  16. No wonder that HD DVD player was so cheap last November
  17. Portable Engine - Only If You Persist (P.S. -- I love this thread and I will be playing more than once!!)
  18. No Wilco in SLC. I did, however, drink pomegranate martinis and play cranium to welcome in 2008.
