You can makes some AWESOME sounds with it. Especially, like you said, if it is layered. I emailed Paul and never heard back, so I settled on Pedalgeek. It took me a month or so to find one. It really is a cool pedal, but not one you can use on every song.

I totally agree. I didn't pay the full $89 for those cables. I have a good friend that works at Guitar Center, so I get a substantial discount. Hearing what he knows, no one should EVER pay sticker price. There is room for stores to come down in there prices where the sales people don't have to sacrafice pay. Whether they say so or not.

If you are good at soldering (I am not) you can purchase cable and connectors made by Canare (kahn-R-ee) and make high-quality cables yourself. I have a good friend who does a lot of studio work who swears by them. For those who are solder-retarded (like me) I use Mogami. I just bought 2 50' XLR to XLR for a recording gig last night and they retailed for $89 a piece. Steep, but quality and no signal loss or degradation. Hope that helps.

On all of my recent recordings, I've been using a Rode NT1-A. It's a large-diaphragm condenser mic and it sounds really good. For a little under $250 it is superb. It is very transparent and has really, really low self-noise. If you do go this route, get a really high-quality mic cable. Not the funnest thing to spend 40 or 50 bucks on, but a good spend. Your 4-Track must have phantom power also (for a condenser). Just an alternative to the SM-57.

I have one of these guitars and frankly, mine's a piece of shit. In hindsight I would have just bought a better one. I wanted to use it for recording and it has so much hum it won't work. Oh well.

This was my first thought when reading this thread. What a great, great show. It's been a while since I've seen it. I hope it hasn't aged poorly. As a kid, I used to think MacGyver was just awesome. I made a really fancy shmancy cooling apparatus out of a number of PC case fans that cycles A LOT more air through the vents and also under the 360. No red lights yet, thank God. I got the best buy policy also. PS -- any Xbox 360 players should totally buy that new Forza Motosport 2 game. It is sooo much fun, even (like me) if you're not into cars.

I also feel like someone has something wrong with them if they can't "get" or don't "understand" YHF. It is epic. It is experimental. It is original. It is timeless. I've heard this is the biggie in the problem department. A few reviews I have read said web pages were taking more than 2 minutes to load. I think if you could use this phone on any network, it would be a knockout.
