Another thing I took away from the DVD is how much everyone in the band is bringing to the current songs. Especially members like Pat, whose parts on Impossible Germany are great. I haven't had the good fortune of seeing Wilco live more than a couple of times, so it was cool to really see who was playing what. Like Pat (I think it was Pat) said, usually you record a rough track and then one member at a time overdubs parts. Also, I totally agree with the previous post regarding these songs being "sold" this way. I couldn't agree more. Seeing the film has prompted me to lay off the skip but

I've been experimenting a lot with noise and layering on a number of recordings I've been working on. I really like using an Ebow. I don't know if that's a "setup" but it sure is neat to experiment with. I really need to get a fuzz pedal.

I really didn't get a chance to listen to much of the interview. He did, however say something (for us damn lost fans ) about Desmond mentioning that he had forseen and prevented his (Charlie) death 3 or 4 times, but this time Charlie's death was necessary. I know in years past, when someone was getting killed they would be on Regis and Kelly the next day or Good Morning Amercia or something. This was the case when Mr. Eko died this year. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that all the performances of the songs on the DVD are better than their studio versions.

I watched the Shake it Off DVD right before Letterman, and the performance of What Light on the DVD was infinitely better than the one on Letterman.

I just called my local indie store -- 18.99 with the DVD. Best Buy for 24.99. That makes it an easy choice!! edit: I meant for SBS, naturally

I sure hope for this as well. I was blown away the first time I heard that. EDIT: $.99 on iTunes has confirmed that there is a "drum solo." Unfortunately, so scaled down from the live version, it's more like a big fill.

My modem died also, and it was nice to just take it to the cable company and get a new one instead of being out $50. I guess it's a price breakdown issue.

In my experience (with Comcast) all you need to do is split the coaxial cable, with simply a splitter. They're only like $5 or $10. Then you rent the cable modem from Comcast for (cheap) amount of dollars a month. Run the cable from the wall to the splitter and then one of the split lines to the modem and the other to your tv. Then you can hook the ethernet cable from the modem to a wireless router or right into your computer.

I have a Powerbook G4 (the macbook predecessor) and I LOVE it. I have been a PC person for years -- building, gaming, etc. I run Office 2004 and it works perfectly with PC versions. I'm not sure which Office version I have, unfortunately. Also, I would up your RAM to 2 gigs. Trust me. You can always buy Leopard when it comes out ~$100. I suggest dropping the extra money for the service plan. Unlike PCs which you can go buy parts for and fix, you really need an Apple tech to work on your machine if it's something serious. One service trip will more than pay for itself. My $.02
