  1. Future Islands at the Auditorium in Chicago. Looking forward to it.
  2. Regarding Tweedy's vocals, I wonder if still stems from his sinus operation --- don't remember when he had that done - so I may be way off. From the tapes I have heard - he still sounds good live - perhaps it's just in the studio and the tunes he has been writing over the last 10 years or so.
  3. Watched the 1st episode of the Bear -- starting off great. Just noticed that the above is the freezer door - that's pretty cool. Last night, my kid wanted us to make the Bear family spaghetti recipe --- it turned out pretty good - need to season it more, though. The kid was hoping we'd find a bunch of cash when we opened the can of San Marzano tomatoes --- but nothin'...
  4. Last night my village celebrated our 100th Year Anniversary with a bunch of what not, which ended in a drone show. As the show was ending and the drones started fall down back to land, WIlco's Love Is Everywhere (Beware) played over the ball park speakers -- Definitely not expected to hear this tune -- it was kinda cool.
  5. Saw three shows at the Sphere last week -- definitely worth the trip. A different type of crowd. The visuals were great - though they did repeat many over the three days. Musically - Weir vocals were great through out -- his guitar playing got better as the shows went on. The rest of the band sounded great through out the weekend. The sound is definitely great -- not as loud - especially during a solo - as I was hoping, though. Don't think I will venture back any time soon. Still not a fan of Vegas -- the 110 degree temperatures did not help.
  6. A great season for the Gunners ---- 2 points shy of the Championship. A much better finish this year, than last year. We'll see if City gets any point deductions. I would be perfectly fine with waiting a month, to celebrate a Championship for the Gunners.
  7. The White Sox has been somewhat ok to watch the last 15 games or so ------ Still miss Jason Benetti calling the games, at least him and Stone made the games interesting even when the play on the field stunk. I am back to listening to music, as I watch the games. We just finished up season 3 of Slow Horses. A very enjoyable show - Gary Oldman is awesome and it's always nice to hear Jagger sing the opening theme song. Also watched the 1st two episodes of "Drops of God" (via Apple TV), yesterday. Definitely piqued my interest. The location shots have been great (Paris, Toy
  8. There is still hope for the Gunners ----- traveling for a wedding on Saturday, so I will be watching it via the phone in the car. Go Gunners! Also, I am glad fans don't do the flare thing in the states --- those things seem annoying. They kind of remind me of hearing firecrackers at concerts go off during the 70's, that I hear on bootlegs.
  9. Bettye's night is definitely out for me -- it would be the Sunday show with Lainey Wilson, if I do end up going. It would be great to see Lavette, though.
  10. Enjoy! I am glad Keith is back to singing two songs. I do wish they were doing more than three songs off the new record. Still 'sitting on the fence' on going to a Chicago show. Dead & Co's shows in June completely blew my concert budget this year. Cool poster.
  11. I have been re-watching the series with my kid and wife --- my first time through, I thought it was really great, but my wife didn't hang with it ---- she decided to give another shot. So many great characters on the show. Going into the series, my kid told me not to keep saying "'make sure you don't do that" to him, all the time.....
  12. Not much of a match --- but 3 points for the Gunners! ---- Go Spurs!!!!!!
  13. Enjoy - a bunch of my friends are heading to see Trey, tonight - too. Still haven's caught a show at the Salt Shed..
  14. Yeah - the Bears, White Sox, and Tracy Chapman. Bennett's interviews with James Oliver and Matthew McConaughey are always great. Definitely will seek out the book -- my library has it.
  15. That was an awesome match --- loved watching the crowd afterwards ------ such happiness and pure joy. And as a Gunner fan I was really, really happy to see a Liverpool defeat. My friend turned me on to the Men in Blazers show earlier this year --- Roger Bennett must have been ecstatic for the Everton win
  16. Now that Arsenal is out of the Champions League --- rooting for Real Madrid.
  17. I have Englishman friend who has been trying to get me into football for the last 13 years -- I finally picked at Premier League team, before the beginning of last year and settled on Arsenal ---- I picked them mostly because it is Mick Jagger's favorite team. It is has been a blast following the league. I love the structure of the league. Bottom three get regulated and such -- wish USA sports had the same system - it will help to ensure teams making sure they put a decent enough team together to compete. My buddy is Manchester United fan -- it has been a blast watch
  18. Forgot about this series - my wife and started watching it couple of years ago. Need to pick it back up --- the bits do get a bit redundant - but funny as all hell. Not as great as The Inbetweeners - but still very funny. Also finally got around to watch The Perks of Being a Wallflower, this past week. Good movie (it was hit with my teenage son and niece, they both watched last year or so) -- my biggest beef of the movie was how would the three main characters not know "Heroes" by David Bowie???? The writer should have picked a different song or a used different
  19. Yeah -- made 80. Good on 'em. That last decade has not been great for him - health wise. Was such a great, great player with a beautiful tone. Songwriting skills were there, too.
  20. Enjoy the Phish show. A giant Joshua Light show would be great.
  21. Wow - this thread as been Dead (ha!) for almost a year. And now I opening it back up with a Dead & Co bit (e-gads) ----- decided to head to Vegas to catch some shows (June 13, 14, and 15th). When it was announced I was on the fence (not a big fan of Vegas at all, spent one day/night there in the late 90's and then drove out to the Grand Canyon for the 2 remaining nights of the trip) --- but decided to do something different this year. That being said I am looking forward to seeing what this Sphere thing entails and such. I am glad Phish is
  22. It is sounding good. A great year. Looking at Wilcobase I saw 6 shows in 2008. Five at the Riviera and the Lollapalooza show = not the Iowa show, though.
  23. New upload. Wilco Val Air Ballroom Des Moines, IA Mar 9, 2008
