  1. Interesting. Didn't realize it was assigned balcony seating, too. Typically I always stayed on the main floor -- but the couple of times we went up to the balcony, the brisk walk up the stairs to nab a great seat was a hoot. I don't remember ever seeing seat numbers - but I can be wrong about that. I guess the venue/promotor gets a bit more dough this way, too.
  2. Would you know when the Riv started to sell separate tickets for the floor and various balconies? Been a long while since I bought tickets for a Riviera show, but I don't remember seeing that before.
  3. I read the Bootleg one -- I am pretty sure I read others of his, too. It's great that writers now have access to Dylan's archive in Tulsa.
  4. I believe that was Howard Sounes who revealed that -- Heylin takes a jab or two at Sounes in the book.
  5. Reading Heylin's The Double Life of Bob Dylan - A Restless, Hungry Feeling (1941-1966). I have a few chapters left ----- it's been a while since I read a Dylan bio -- still amazed how much he wrote before 66. Heylin is a blow hard - but it is well researched. Looking forward to future volumes -- I am assuming there will be.
  6. FEB 12, 2010 -- Royal Theatre Victoria, BC was added yesterday.
  7. Soundtrack will be a Record Store 2022 Release https://recordstoreday.com/SpecialRelease/14740
  8. Out of the 10 Best Picture nominees, I have only seen Don't Look Up, so that is why I thought that Kimmel was pretty apt. I am fine that it was not nominated and I agree that just because a movie makes a crap ton of money does not necessarily mean it is worthy of a Best Picture nod. (I also think a movie shouldn't get a nod, just because of the movie's intentions/theme)
  9. My boy and I saw Spider-Man: No Way Home - awesome all around. First time heading to a movie theater since Covid hit, forgot how enjoyable it is hitting the Marvel movies with the kid. Now that I have finally watched it, I poked around reading reviews -- I guess the Oscar's snubbing the movie is getting some buzz. Have to totally agree with the below quote from Jimmy Kimmel. “How did [‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’] not get one of the 10 nominations for best picture?” Kimmel asked viewers. “Forget the fact that the movie made $750 million [in the U.S.] and is still going.
  10. Same for us. Good for them for getting the dough - but we decided to skip it, again.
  11. The earliest blizzard I was remember was 1979 (Chicago). I was in 1st grade --- we lived in a court (P's still live there) --- Had some epic king of the mountain (plowed snow drifts) fun. Just got the robo call that the kid's will be zooming again, tomorrow. 4. 20.3 inches Jan 13-14, 1979
  12. Hitting IL now, seen worse, but bad enough. Another drawback with covid - no snow days for the kiddo's - they just set up zoom and close the schools. Loved snow days, growing up - bummer for them.
  13. Not knowing going in that it kinda had some of the same themes as Looking For Mr. Goodbar, watched Don Juan, or If Don Juan Were a Woman. First Bardot movie for me. It's interesting comparing the two movies.
  14. Family movie night last night with The Mitchells vs the Machines - entertaining. A nice cleanser between Looking For Mr. Goodbar and starting up Ozark.
  15. Just finished watching this via Hulu --- man, dark is right. Kinda choppy in the storyline - but it works. Didn't realize it was shot in Chicago, until after I watched it. Assumed it was New York City. The ending was interesting --- not knowing the book ---
  16. Curious to know if you were you shooting at all this weekend or was it a total enjoy the music kind of vacation?
  17. Exactly --- if the intention was to make people actually think about global warming, etc. while making people laugh - it completely missed the mark for me - the humor, due to the writing, was completely lost on me. (Typically, I enjoy McKay's movies) None of the characters had any redeeming qualities, therefore I couldn't have any empathy for anyone or anything, while watching it.
  18. We watched Don't Look Up --- horrible. We were really rooting for the meteor to hit the earth sooner.
  19. Dead & Co shows are officially off. I can't see the Wilco shows happening... Dead & Company @deadandcompany · 16m With much sadness and after great consideration of every possible scenario, the @PlayTheSand shows in Riviera Cancun on January 7-10 and Jan
  20. The below is great --- I don't know much about them -- but what I do know sounds interesting. Did see them once at the first Lolla in 91. Fun. The definitive documentary that will reveal the hole truth and nothing butt
  21. It looks like Mick Taylor started to solo a bit and Keith did not like that --- he just wanted to vamp the riff while Jagger sang the "got to roll" bit.
