  1. Thanks for the review. Dylan was definitely more active at the Columbus show. The Columbus crowd was great, as well. People were glued to their seats.
  2. The Stones re-released it in the theaters in 2010 - it was cool to see on the big screen. Re-watched during DVD binge, after Charlie passed away.
  3. Never noticed that. Need to rewatch that "Tumbling Dice"
  4. Are you talking about the Ladies and Gentlemen's release?
  5. My wife and I were at the September 13, 2003 REM/Wilco show --- great Kicking Television opener. A cold, cold night.
  6. After lurking around for a while, I officially joined in Nov. 2005 ---- I needed to fill in some blanks in my head regarding Tweedy's 11.5.2005 solo show in Madison. That was a fun night. It's been a nice ride on the board, since.
  7. Saw his dad on Saturday night in Columbus, Ohio. Still going strong at 80. 8 new tunes off his latest record. Saturday's show was my 21st and it was definitely the best produced show I seen from Dylan. The lighting was was great. They built up the stage and the band played on a light box, which was used very nicely. Definitely had a 'play-like' production feel.
  8. The latest recored never jumped out at me, I have only listened to it a handful of times, but I glad he is playing 8 of the tunes --- probably would have skipped this tour if he only played 1 or 2. I am curious to see if he keeps playing all 8. While looking for restaurants near the theater, I saw that a place called Ringside Cafe is right around the corner -- opened since 1897. Need to see I can spot a guy with a grey hoodie soaking up the boxing motif ambiance while enjoying a burger and a beer....
  9. Congrats Boss_Tweedy ---- must admit the chop bugs the hell out me, but they had an interesting year and they turned it around the right time. Their front office should get an award for the wonders they did this year, as well as the manager. Congrats.
  10. Yeah I heard about Sexton playing with Costello --- definitely will be missed. Will see how the replacement is. Never heard of Doug Lancio. I just saw that he is on some John Hiatt records that I have - didn't recognize the name. Bob Britt was playing with him in 2019 -- I enjoyed his playing when I saw the show in Chicago.
  11. Start of the tour last night --- a lot of new tunes off his latest, which is cool. New drummer and guitar player. Just decided to make a family trip to Columbus, Ohio to catch a show this Saturday. Interestingly - I will be seeing another X-Pensive Wino -- Charley Drayton, saw Steve Jordan last week with the Stones. The Expecting Rain site needs to learn how to spell Drayton's first name. Milwaukee, Wisconsin Riverside Theatre November 2, 2021
  12. Heading up to Minnesota today for the Stones' Sunday concert. I am looking forward to see what Steve Jordan brings to the table. Guessing it will be both a sad and sweet show. I am glad I saw the two Soldier Field shows in 2019 --- those shows will serve as the bookends, while this weekend's show is the afterword.
  13. I enjoyed watching this. An interesting guy.
  14. I think Offerman and Tweedy touched upon this story during their 'web-talk' for Tweedy's songwriting book. My wife and I did this trail - he definitely hits descriptions nicely.
  15. some nice shots with Nels (via Relix). Listened to the show on the archive - sounded great.
  16. Looks like you are heading down to the Ryman -- what a great place to see Hiatt with The Jerry Douglas Band. Enjoy.
  17. Dead & Co. The last band I saw in '19 was Sleep. From one "stoner rock" band to another (kind of).
  18. Watched both of these ---- Paris, Texas was shot great --- I will watch anything that has Harry Dean Stanton. His character and his son played a great road-trip duo. Val was also pretty good ---- sad. It's great that he had a great relationship with his parents, though they didn't seem to all that great to him --- guess they probably paid for his Juilliard training. It's great that it seems that he has a better relationship with kids. Also like the fact that he is still pretty weird. The footage of Top Gun was pretty cool to see. Remember my buddy's mom taking us
  19. Been listening to them all morning via Spotify - while cleaning house (Happy Labor Day to all) ---- kind of reminds me of Rush, too - not sure why, but it does.
  20. I hear a more early Pink Floyd feel, than the Dead. Interesting stuff. Do/did they ever tour the states?
  21. Need to seek out that Moonlight Mile version ------ what did they say about Grohl?
  22. That's why that frog was probably a god-send for you at that one show --- 'woo-hoo, finally something really unique to write about'... I do appreciate your write-ups.
  23. Oh jeez --- Dylan must have been crabby that day he was being interviewed.... Maybe he was hanging out with Keith the night before of the interview.
  24. Really? Not sure why Dylan would have any beef with Springsteen about writing a song about a killer or killings. Dylan has written plenty of those types of songs.
