Saw the below on a Stones site -- (Keith with Joe Ely). Not sure where it was taken - assume someplace in Texas.

Yeah -- his radio show was great --- did catch him live at Blue Island Beer Company in 2019. Chatting with briefly while he was taking pictures with whomever wanted one. Cracked me up when a few people were leaving when he starting singing his "Donald Trump Can Suck My Dick" song ---- they didn't mind any the previous songs poking fun and 'bashing' other people, religion, etc..... A great, fun night.

I think the Staples performance was my favorite part of the movie -- the way it was shot was lovely and great. The glimpse of Richard Manuel at the very beginning of the below clip is sad as hell - definitely wrecked throughout the movie. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCSzL5-SPHM

Checked out Pete's Lifehouse DVD release from the library ---- from 2000 ---- been listening to the latest boxset a lot - via Spotify --- this Dvd is pretty great. Checking the credits, I looked up Phil Palmer -- the other guitarist on the gig. Co-wrote "I'm No Angel" - Allman's solo hit - didn't realize that. Also his uncles are Ray and Dave Davies.... He plays well on this DVD. The whole DVD production is nice. Must admit, when I listen to Pete singing --- I never miss Roger.

That may have been my favorite part - kidding - that's cool, though. Did she get to meet Giamatti, Randolph, or Sessa? I got the 1970 feel while watching the film. Also, I definitely will watch the Iron Claw movie at some point -- the Von Erich's were pretty popular and in my middle school in the early 80's ----- I remember writing 'Kerry Von Erich is a wimp' in my friend's yearbook --- she in turn --- taking up a whole page --- wrote "have a great summer and REMEMBER KERRY VON ERICH IS NOT A WIMP" in mine. I guess I remembered...

Watched the Holdovers -- very enjoyable. All three of the main actors (Paul Giamatti, Da'Vine Joy Randolph and Dominic Sessa) were great. Great characters and story.

Yeah - the BBA is also on my list.

I am waiting on the price to drop even more. But I do really want this set. Been listening to it via Spotify, since it was released.

He doesn't look a day under 90 - god love 'em. Waiting to see the setlists before getting Chicago tickets -- want to see at least three new songs being played - the more the better. After multiple listens, I have come to really enjoy Hackney Diamonds.

Checked out Live at Great Woods dvd from the library, a very nice, hot Jessica. Both Warren and Dickey have great solos. Gregg is nice and high in the mix, too. From 1991. I think I saw them for the first time in 92. They sure were a bad ass looking band in 91. Jaimoe's mohawk - Allen Woody and Haynes straight out goonsviles. Butch looking like a dweeb in backwards ball cap, though. Gregg looking cool as always. And of course, Dickey in hat covering his eye like an old western.

After a few listens to the Hackney Diamonds --- I am still trying to get past the production -- the drums, especially. I don't think Jordan is the issue, either -- just they way the drums were recorded. I glad the band got away from Don Was - but perhaps a picking a different producer would have been better. Oddly enough I am having issues with the sound of the latest Wilco, too. With each listen, I seem to be enjoying it more and more, though I am happen to have more issues with the Wilco one -- perhaps because I had higher hopes for Cousin.

All great choices - you weren't into Stones before that? It was "Harlem Shuffle" video that got you to investigate the Stones, right?

Today, for the 1st time since 1986, I bought a new Stones' release on vinyl. I never have buy multiply variations of a record --- of course I bought a Target one today and waiting on the White Sox and the Paul Smith version to come via the mail.

Listening to the 12/31/73 Allman's show now --- glad people stopped lighting off firecrackers at shows. That would have drove me nuts. The Lost Live Dead had a great post on this New Year's Show. http://lostlivedead.blogspot.com/2012/12/december-31-1973-cow-palace-daly-city.html My take on why they never played together again after this date is probably due to the Dead's hiatus after 74 and drugs.

Just finished listening to the Dead's December 12, 1973 show from the Omni in Atlanta where Jerry wishes Dickie a happy birthday, before the band heads into Sugar Magnolia. Alan Paul mention's it in the book. Alan Paul also mentions the ABB December 31, 1973 New Year's show at the Cow's Palace -- the last time Garcia played with Betts on stage. Not sure if I have listened to the whole show - I guess the Dead crew dosed the Allmans.

Been reading Brothers and Sisters: The Allman Brothers Band and the Inside Story of the Album That Defined the '70s A decent read. The chapters on the Summer Jam at Watkins Glen were great. I am up to the point where Brothers and Sisters was released. It seems like Betts was an asshole in the 70s, too. His wife and kid was not part of the Brothers and Sisters gatefold because Betts was pissed at his wife and kicked them out for a bit.
