I don't give a crap either way about discussing things ----- though I must admit the whole Fred thing is dumb and getting old -- but to each their own. It's just hard trying to have a legit discussion about about a band, when right off the bat someone is using a dumb name for the band - maybe use it once to prove your point, then move on. The MSG set is decent thus far - listened to first 81 show (10/9/81) and last show in the set (10/12/83). Joe Russo's Almost Dead at the Riv. ---- I think the last time I was at the Riv was to see Wilco in 2014.

Also, Tweedy probably wishes he was hip as the Grateful Dead is now. Regardless of liking their music or not -- one should at least admire that Weir, Kreutzmann, Hart and others are still filling up stadiums 27 years after Garcia died. For me it about the tunes that they wrote, but again to each their own.

If I had choice between U.S. Blues and Kicking Television - I would pick Kicking Television. And who would want to hear a Beatles' cover - ugh.

I by no means was offended (if you were talking about me) ----- to each there own when it comes to music. Members of the National and Bob Weir have played together. Weir put out a record called Blue Mountain with some of the members. Saw a show with while Weir was supporting the record --- a great show. I am a Deadhead -- I don't see any correlation between the two bands. Tweedy and Cline played with Phil Lesh over the summer and they must have enjoyed playing "U.S. Blues" that night, thus they put in it their set, I don't think there is anymore to it. Over the years they have played a cover at the end of their set - so I don't think it anthing nothing new. I was at the Phil show that night and I thought the band's version of U.S. Blues was the weakest song of the night. When I read that Wilco played it in their own set, I was skeptical -- then I heard their version

We finished the 1st season of White Lotus, last night --- it kind of petered out the last few episodes. Must admit, I am glad it was only 6 episodes. Could not get attached to any of the characters.

Dark Star Orchestra --- last time I saw these guys was 1998. Must admit we left after the 1st set because we were bored. Pretty crazy that they are celebrating this 25th anniversary this year --- which is great. Guess today is the actual 25th anniversary of their 1st show -- so it should be pretty special.

Cool - would like to see your thoughts afterwards. I hardly go to concerts now a days - figures two gigs on the same night would pop up. I am seeing a completely opposite type of band -- Dark Star Orchestra (plays Grateful Dead tunes).

They are playing a living room show very near me tomorrow night --- but of course I already had tickets for another show tomorrow night. Would have been cool to go.

U2's All That You Can't Leave Behind was a solid effort 20 years in. Their live show may have peaked in 2000, too ---- at least that Boston release from that tour is my favorite live dvd release of the theirs (though technically that was a 2001 performance). Presently listening to Teenage's Fanclub's - Shadows. Another one 20 years in -- saw them in 2010, they were putting on a great, solid show.

One the of the ways we used to get tickets was going to a Ticketmaster in a 'less than desired' neighborhood --- but even back then, every now and then a van would pull up and out came 5 or 6 people who looked like they were being paid to buy tickets, to be scalped later....

I agree - a box set would be great, but the way the band was talking about that time in the Sky DVD - I don't think they would want to revisit it. Maybe by 2038 they will be ready.

I enjoy the Monster record - but I was not a huge fan of the live show on the cd deluxe edition -- enjoyed the music on the live set, but I thought Stipe's vocals were off -- to much straining, from what I remember. I have not listened to in a while. Back to that From the Sky Down DVD -- wish they would have done more about the recording of Achtung Baby. Decent enough doc, though. I don't remember the Rattle and Hum film getting panned when it was released by critics and such - the band talks about in the Sky Down video - I remember enjoying upon it's release.

Just checked out From the Sky Down from my library --- never even heard about this DVD --- anyway, a great segment is during the playback of "Sick Puppy" ("Mysterious Ways") --- the new bridge which turned out to be the chords of "One'. It's great that they had the DAT rolling. A great doc thus far.

We watched The Greatest Beer Run Ever last night. A great story - depressing. Wish they would have done another 5 minutes of the story after he got back from Vietnam. The ending seemed a bit rush, but I guess the main story is the actual beer run.

Heard that, too -- highlight of the game for me.

Anybody make it to the any of the shows? Curious how they sounded in such a small pub.

What's up with the Where's Wilco (Waldo motif) in Chicago - October 9th, 2022 ad on Nugs?

When this thread started - my wife was pregnant with with our oldest kid - of course I stated, bring the kid back in 09. The below was taken in 2010 - the kid would have been 9 months old. Pretty sure this was his first Wilco show. July 10, 2010 - South Bend Show (with Yo La Tengo) - A great show. Kid slept through most of it and now he is a teenager.... The person with the t-shirt couldn't stop laughing when we crossed each other's path. My wife happen to send me this pic this morning.

How was the show? I was out of town last week -- definitely would have hit one the shows, if I was in town.
