  1. Thank you for the pics -- the one with Glenn and John laughing is a great one.
  2. Does the Leon book mentioned anything about him being a type of 'cult leader'? It has been awhile since I watched the Mad Dogs & Englishmen film, but I remember his portrayal in that movie made me feel un-easy from some reason. Spent last week in the Georgia mountains, so I decided to read Tobacco Road by Erskine Caldwell. Interesting book. Doesn't hold back at all -- can seen why some Georgians are not a fan.
  3. That's cool -- I live in the next town over and didn't hear anything about this. My local fishing hole.
  4. That's cool that Lambert got the trophy. Well deserved - he has been talking up Wilco for years on his and David Gans' Tales from the Golden Road show on the XM/Sirius Grateful Dead channel.
  5. I feel that the below belongs in the official show's"After the Show" thread. from the SunTimes. Wilco super fan Paul Suwan takes home a trophy presented by Jeff Tweedy during Thursday night’s concert at the Riviera. Jeff Elbel
  6. I had to skip the show. Below is from the SunTimes article. 7. Hopefully you get to see this before you go dark for the couple of weeks. https://chicago.suntimes.com/2023/3/24/23655163/wilco-review-chicago-riviera-theatre-jeff-tweedy from the SunTimes. Wilco super fan Paul Suwan takes home a trophy presented by Jeff Tweedy during Thursday night’s concert at the Riviera. Jeff Elbel
  8. Completely forgot that the tour starts this week. Need to give Cruel Country a couple more spins.
  9. I do enjoy 1A, alot - big fan of Jen White -- but they should have played a Tweedy sung tune, when they played an Uncle Tupelo song during the intro. Thanks for posting -- I listen to the show while at lunch - but missed this one.
  10. This should be a fun/great event at the Hideout. Tickets go on sale tomorrow (3.3.23) at 10 am.
  11. This past week, we watched this ---- I thought it was pretty great - Blanchett was indeed fantastic. It was cool what the director/writer didn't show --- the alleged past incidents that occurred. The ending was interesting to.
  12. I have a old Bose system in my basement, where I watch movies that I know the rest of the family wouldn't be too interesting in --- just realized one the RCA chord inputs popped out ---- I just figured Linklater shot Slacker in black and white. Was watching a 99 Stones DVD, I got through 3/4 of it and was wondering why they decided to shoot it in black and white --- I then thought to look at the back of the unit and sure enough one of the inputs popped out. Maybe I should re-watch Slacker and see if opinion changes...
  13. We finished all three seasons of the Inbetweeners -- what a great, awesome, funny show. It held it's own all 18 episodes. Yesterday, I watched Slacker (Linklater's 1990 movie) --- I don't think I have watched it before - but could be wrong. I can see why I may have forgotten if I watched it or not -- the movie did not do much for me. Interesting concept, I guess. But it just seemed way to forced. Too soliloquy, which I guess was the point. I did like the old man and his daughter who walked into their home while someone was robbing it. The whole bit worked. The film was nicely shot
  14. JAM released some more tickets for the The Riviera shows --- grabbed a ticket for Thursday. So Thursday and Sunday it is.
  15. An updated list will be on Reverb on February 22, 2023. Wilco’s Gear Is Returning to Reverb
  16. Larry Mullen, Jr. is definitely sitting out the Vegas shows --- be weird seeing them with Larry. Via Relix
  17. I listen to 2/13/70 this morning -- it's definitely a great one.
  18. Never heard of "Friday Night Dinner" -- will check it out. Recently, we did watch the 1st two episodes of "We Are Lady Parts" --- pretty interesting.
  19. It was great show yesterday -- guess it will be streaming for while on their website. I can't see Wilco not giving Brehmer a shout out at some point during the Riv run. Mary Dixon was out town this week, so she missed out on radio tribute and others. Part of her written words stated: "I'm on my first real vacation in four years and will miss a [Sunday] gathering ... to share some drinks, memories and songs in Lin's honor. My request in absentia is Wilco's 'Box Full of Letters.'" Perhaps they can dedicate "Box Full of Letters" to him.
  20. He did write a nice piece on the White Sox. https://www.audacy.com/wxrt/blogs/lin-brehmer/ode-white-sox
  21. Lin and Mary Dixon were the best ---- when Bob Verdi was doing his bit with Lin and Mary, it was always great, too. My wife hates sports and yet she always looked forward to listening to Verdi and Brehmer do their 10 minutes or so of sport talk. A musician's DJ, for sure. A great pic with Jagger - both looking uncomfortable as they both should.
  22. Had a great life, at least that is it how sounded while he was on air. Always knew how to turn a phrase. I am glad he was able to get back on the air, while battling cancer. XRT will be having a remembrance tomorrow morning at 10am. "It's great to be alive!"
